Uriel nodded and headed for the kitchen, sending a quick thanks to Rinehold. As soon as he saw Synder standing at the counter cutting up fresh fruits, Uriel rushed over to him and wrapped his arms around his waist, burying his face on his shoulder.

“I saw him… well, them.”

“Them who?”

“Azazel and Dagon,” he whispered.

Synder stopped what he was doing and turned, wrapping his arms around his waist, holding him in comfort. Uriel didn’t need to say anything else because he knew his friend understood.

Azazel got backto his office after his meeting with Gadriel and called Tanner to his office.

“Sir, you want to see me?”

“Yes, get me information on Blue Lennox.”

“The 4X-Clusive lead singer turned actor?”

“Is there any other?” Azazel asked.

Tanner furrowed his brows. “Sir, why do you want information on him?”

“When have I ever explained my reasons to you? Now, go do what I ask.”

“Yes, sir.”

"Oh, and reschedule the meeting with Director Fang and the others for the end of the week in the conference room."

"Yes, sir," Tanner said.

Azazel leaned back in his chair and looked out of the window. A smile crossed his lips as he thought about his interaction with Blue. There was something about Blue Lennox that intrigued him, and yet he seemed oddly familiar. It could have been the gray flecks in his eyes or the way he called him anasshole. Azazel wasn’t sure, but he certainly wanted to know a bit more about the man before they met up for dinner.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on his office door and Tanner entered. Azazel assumed that his assistant had the information he'd asked for.

“That was quick,” Azazel said.

“Sir, your next appointment has arrived. The CEO Kayne Vale of Synder Protection and Investigation is here.”

“Shit, I forgot all about that.” Azazel wasn’t in the mood to meet with anyone at the moment. “What is Ramil doing right now?”

Ramil Thanik was the studio's vice president who worked for the company in public relations in California of all places. Azazel had sent out fillers that he was looking for a new vice president Ramil's resume was the only one that stood out to him. It also helped that the man was a phoenix shifter who understood Azazel's goal to let the world remember their kind existed.

“He’s meeting with the department heads in the main conference room.”

Sighing, Azazel leaned back in his chair. “Fine, let Kayne in.”

Tanner nodded and walked out of his office, and a few seconds later, a familiar but more masculine face entered.

Azazel smiled, then stood and walked over to Kayne Vale. “I know you, don’t I? Or not you personally, but your mother. Rosemary Vale.”

Kayne chuckled, but the mirth didn’t reach his eyes. Azazel put it to the back of his mind. They were business associates, not friends. However, he didn’t think he’d have to put on airs with Vale since his mother was married to a god.

“Who doesn’t know my mother?” Kayne said.

“She’s a nice person,” Azazel said truthfully. “She helped me connect with my son Donald, so I owe her a great deal.”

“Well, that’s my mother for you.” Kayne smiled, and that time Azazel saw joy in his eyes. “Even as a newlywed and with a newborn she has time to meddle in others' affairs.”
