Uriel was certain that the damn fate sisters were fucking with his peaceful life, and sadly, there wasn’t anything he could do about it. He’d already changed the course of his fate when he walked away from Dio’s army.

They got off the elevator and walked down the hall to an open office, and were greeted by the receptionist.

“Hello, LaTicia,” Khray greeted.

“Good morning, Blue and Mister Wade.” LaTicia beamed.

Blue nodded in recognition as Khray spoke. “Is everyone here?”

“Yes, everyone is waiting for you both in conference room A. Mister Dagon said to let you guys go in the second you arrive.”

“Thanks,” Khray said.

They headed to the conference room and Uriel tightly held on to the coffees and snacks in his hand, hoping that he didn’t ruin them, since he was about to come face to face with the man who played a hand in breaking his family apart. They entered the conference room, and he heard Dagon’s voice, but it stopped when Khray entered. Steeling his nerves, he walked into the conference room with a smile.

“Hey, guys, sorry we’re late,” Khray said.

“You’re not,” Dagon said, walking over to meet them, taking the coffee and boxes from Blue. “Khray, how are you feeling?I heard you were in the hospital."

"I'm doing better, thanks. Becoming an alpha will take some time."

"Change is good sometimes," Dagon said, looking away from Khray to Uriel. "Blue, how are you doing?”

Uriel looked up at Dagon; anger boiled inside of him and he didn’t think he’d be able to play nice with his tormentor. He wanted to run, but his feet wouldn't move.

Get your shit together, Uri, this is your job and not the time to let this asshole intimidate you.

"I'm busy," Uriel responded, pasting a smile on his face.

"Isn't that a good thing?" Dagon said, chuckling. "Being a star comes with hard work."

Uriel was about to speak when his phone rang. Pulling it out of his pocket, he answered it without looking, knowing that it was Synder. Because he had to change phones, he gave everyone important in his life different ringtones to know who was calling.

"Excuse me, I have to answer this," he said to Dagon.

"You know the rules, Blue. When we meet, no personal phone calls," Dagon said.

Fuck, Khray, I said tell me everything! And what the hell kind of rule is that? What a fucking asshole.Uriel mentally smiled as an image of him slashing Dagon's neck, ending his life, flashed through his thoughts. That would be so fucking sweet, then I could let go of his fucking ghost.

"I'm sorry, Mister Dagon, but it's from a friend who's been under the weather lately, and I told him to call me any time he needed me for something."

Dagon looked at him, as if assessing the validity of his words. "Fine, answer it and deal with it quickly. We're already behind."

"Will do." Uriel walked out of the conference room, heading to the entrance, and answered Synder's call.

"Syn, what's up?"

“Are you busy?”

“I just got to a meeting,” Uriel answered.

“Do you think you can meet me at the safe house? Blue won’t talk to the doctor until he speaks to you.”

“All right. I’ll be there in a few.” He hung up the phone and sent Khray a message that something came up that couldn’t wait and to make up an excuse to Dagon for him. Uriel didn’t wait for him to respond, nor did he tell him it was about Blue, because he didn’t want the man to worry. Walking to a dark alley, Uriel changed into his normal face and teleported to the safe house. He entered without knocking, and was not surprised to see Rinehold walking over to him.

“Hey, where's Synder? He told me to meet him here?”

“He’s in the kitchen,” Rinehold answered.
