Haidyn nods. “May I speak to you a second? Privately.”
Kashton turns to me, and his hard eyes meet mine. “Stay right here. On this table. Do you understand?”
Where the fuck am I going to go? Out the window? That won’t get me fucked. Just break my legs. I nod.
“I mean it, Eve. I want you in this very spot.” He points to the table I lie on, and it reminds me of when I let him treat me like a pet. I’d love for him to collar and fuck me right now. Tie me up, put me in bed, and fuck my face until I’m drooling all over myself.
“I understand.”
He kisses my forehead and then turns, exiting the room with Haidyn.
I slam the back of my head on the table, throwing my arm that doesn’t have an IV in it over my eyes. The light in here is too bright.
SIXTY-FOUR
KASHTON
Istep right outside the room, refusing to go far. I’m not surprised to see Saint and Hooke also out here in the waiting area.
“Did you find out anything?”
“No,” Hooke growls.
“Did you kill him already?” I wonder.
“I’m going to give him a few days of hell and then see what I can get out of him. We’re going to introduce him to Isabella tomorrow and see if they know one another.”
I nod. “Well, if he’s here, then he’s not with Hailey.” Who knows where the woman is. She could have been sold already. She could be in another country, or she could be right under our noses. “Did he have her cell phone on him?”
“No,” Hooke answers.
“He had a lot to say about Eve.” Haidyn crosses his arms over his chest.
“Oh yeah, like what?” I bite, knowing he isn’t going to let up.
“She’s been killing Lords.”
“Which is crazy.” Saint shakes his head. “I mean, I’m not saying a woman couldn’t kill a man, but he made it sound like there have been many, many men.”
I say nothing.
“Kashton,” Haidyn growls. “What the fuck was he talking about, and what do you know about this?”
I look away and run a hand down my face. I can’t keep this from them anymore. “Eve works for Adam.”
Silence falls over them as they glance at one another.
“Adam is dead,” Hooke finally says.
Haidyn lets out a long breath and Saint frowns. “How do you know this? Did she tell you that?” Saint questions.
“Yes and no.”
“Well, which one is it?” Haidyn barks.
“I spoke with Adam. He told me?—”
“When the fuck did you see Adam?” Saint growls, knowing that Adam didn’t tell me this when we were all together at Dollhouse.
