Devin walks over to me and takes my wrist, feeling my pulse, and then steps away. “Take her to exam room one. Get her in a gown, and I’ll be right there.”
“Kash, I promise, I’m okay,” I whine while on the way to the room. “I just want to go to bed.”So you can fuck my brains out.
“After he gives you the all clear.” He kisses my forehead before running his hands up my legs as he slides them under my dress. I raise my hands above my head to let him slip it off me. Then he’s picking me up and setting me on the table before he removes my heels.
I bite back a moan so he doesn’t see how desperate I am, but it feels so good. His tatted hands on my heated skin. Like a lit match to gasoline. I’m on fire for my husband.
He places my arms in the gown’s openings and pulls it closed, tying it off.
The door opens as Devin enters, and Kashton removes his hands and turns to talk to him. I groan in frustration. I tune them out as Kash hands him the eye dropper and rehashes what was said down in the basement.
“Fluids will help detox the liver,” Devin insists. “I’ll draw some blood and start an IV. Once it’s done, I’ll take another blood sample and compare.”
I lie back on the table and close my eyes. So much for getting fucked. This could take all night.
The urge to kick and scream like a child is strong, but I tell myself that will just prove their point. I need to keep my emotions in check.
“Is there anything that we can use to wash it off with?” Kashton asks. “That has to help a little bit, right?”
“Yes, but I’m afraid it won’t be much of a change. Her body has already absorbed most of it by now. You’ve touched her, right?”
“Yes,” he growls. “What the fuck does that have to do with anything?”
“I’m just pointing out that she’s absorbed it. That’s why you can touch her and not get the same response.”
Kashton runs a hand over his head, stressed. “How long does something like this last?”
Devin steps closer to him and lowers his voice. “Depending on what it is and the dosage she got…” He shrugs. “She could see side effects for up to several weeks.”
“I’m horny, not deaf. I can hear you,” I tell them, and Devin clears his throat.
Kashton walks over to me and takes my hand while Devin starts my IV in the other. He draws a tube of blood and then hooks me up to a drip. “Here. I’ll leave you two be. Just use this to wash off the infected area. I’m going to go have tests run on the blood sample, then I’ll be back.”
As Devin exits the room, my husband lets go of my hand and walks to the other side of the bed. “Where was it? The exact area,” Kash asks through gritted teeth.
I slide the gown up more than I need to and run my hand over my skin to show him where. He begins to wash it.
I look over his defined jaw and dark hair. As much as he is intimidating, he’s also so handsome. The rough material of the washcloth on my skin has me breaking out in goose bumps. It’s like the best back scratch. I reach out, grip his shirt, and pull him toward me. But before my lips can touch his, he pulls away.
“Eve,” he warns.
“Please.” I lift my hips off the exam table. “I’m begging you, Kash.”
“Hey.” He places the washcloth over my thigh and leans into me to push my hair out of my face. “I want to make sure you’re safe, Eve.”
I’ve never known a man to care so much. I’m lucky to have him but also irritated. “I am. I’m just horny.”
“I don’t know what he gave you. You were drinking…you could have a reaction or…”
“You know how many times I’ve been drugged?” I give a laugh, and he frowns. “I’ll be fine.” I try again to yank him toward me, but he pulls away, and I huff.
“I will tie you to this table if I have to.” He meant it as a warning, but I think it sounds like a good time.
“Yes, please do,” I beg.
He sighs heavily and stands when the door opens. I narrow my eyes on Haidyn as he enters. “What did Devin say?” he asks.
“He took a blood sample and started an IV. He said topical or not, flushing the liver will help. I also just washed off the infected area.” Kashton shrugs. “Not sure it’ll help, but it can’t hurt.”
