“Was this before he died?” Hooke questions, tilting his head to the side.

“Wait a minute.” Haidyn widens his stance. “Are you telling me she’s been working for Adam all this time?”

“Yeah.” I step closer to him, and he straightens. “The entire time you were talking to Adam behind our backs, he was knowingly working with your sister in Vegas.” His face tightens at the fact that our brother was keeping a secret from him. Sin was right: you can’t trust anyone. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to spend time with my wife who was drugged. Alone.”

I give them my back, yank open her door, and enter the room. She’s lying on the table, and her eyes meet mine. “Hey.” I rush over to her when I see she’s crying. “What’s wrong, Eve? Are you hurting?”

“No.” She sniffs.

I brush my tatted knuckles down her wet cheek. He said she’d have crazy mood swings. The woman already runs hot and cold in a blink of an eye. The drug can’t be helping. “Talk to me.”

“I’m horny,” she whispers. “I need you to fuck me.”

I sigh and look at the bag of fluid. “You’re more than halfway done, angel. When we get back to our room, I’ll fuck you. Okay?” It’s not that I’m not hard, because I am. But I want to make sure she’s okay first. I’m her husband. This is my job. To take care of her. To put her first.

Maxwell said she’d be insatiable. What will getting her off right now do? It could make her want it even more. And then when will it stop? As much as she wants it, her safety comes first. As soon as she’s done and Devin gives her the all clear, I’ll have her coming all night.

Eve nods and turns her head away from me, rolling onto her side. I notice she’s trembling and stand up to grab a blanket out of a cabinet and cover her up with it.

“Thank you,” she mumbles.

“You’re welcome, angel.”

I lie on the table while Kashton sits next to me holding my hand. Devin returns, takes another blood sample, and removes my IV since I’ve finished the bag.

Kashton stands. “I’m going to talk to Devin really quick, and then we’ll go to our room.”

“Can we stay at your house tonight?” I want to be alone. Have an entireplace to ourselves. Not just one room that his brothers have access to, and since Evan is still out there, I know Kashton won’t take me to mine.

“I’ll speak to Devin,” is all he says and walks out of the room.

I stand and remove the gown, then pull my dress back on. I’m placing my heels on when he enters the room.

“Sit on the table,” he orders.

I want to argue but do as I’m told.

He crouches down and removes my heels. Then he stands, kicks off his noir Hermès Bouncing sneakers, and crouches back down, sliding my feet into them. They’re way too big, but he already knows that. “I don’t want you to fall off your heels.”

He takes my hand, and I follow him out of the room. I don’t feel any better. If anything, I feel more uncomfortable than I did before. My skin is flushed, my pulse racing, and my clit is throbbing. My underwear is soaked.

I’m having hot flashes, but I’m freezing cold.

My legs are shaking, and my skin itches.

Kashton pulls me through Carnage, and I smile to myself when we walk out the front doors. He’s taking me to his house.

Thank God.

My car is still parked out front, and I fall into the passenger seat while he walks around. He gets in, starts up the car, and pulls out of the gates. His cell rings andHaidynlights up my dash since he’s connected his cell to my car.

Sighing, he hits Answer. “Hello?”

“Where the fuck are you going?” my brother demands.

“We’ll be back in the morning,” Kashton tells him.
