The Tropes

The trope will be a short story/novella of a MMC and FMC we are hopefully rooting for. They experience their challenges, more or less realistic challenges, but always manage to come back to each other.

The Nopes

The Nope will be a short story/novella in the same category as the Trope (mafia, MC, Billionaire, etc), but we are not sure if we want to root for the MMC and FMC to be together. There will be drama, sometimes over the top kind, and behaviors the readers may not agree with. Some of these relationships and actions will be toxic, which is NOT condoned by the author. The Nope stories are the way a story should not go, unless you like over the top, crazy and wild rides.

The Trope

Sophie Sanchez is the quiet, restrained second daughter of a Don with a smaller clan, but her father is considered respected for his brutality. She has an older sister, Serena, who is the golden child, the one who seems more valuable. Sophie has shut off after the treatment from her father and sister when she was younger, as well as watching her mother’s complicit behavior to the poor treatment and father’s mistresses. She knows more than anyone realizes. But she has reached her limits. What happens with a woman who has reached her limits? She stops caring about the consequences.

Dominic (Dom) Gutierrez has one of the biggest clans, and wants an alliance with Sophie’s father, but initially wanted her sister as his wife. Until he witnesses Sophie use her intelligence in an attempt to get out of the arranged marriage plan for Dom and Sophie. What happens when Dom begins to fall for his temporary wife?

The Nope

Catalina Rossi is married off to the Spanish organized crime’s second largest gang leader, Carlo Garcia. Although Catalina had not wanted the marriage, she eventually fell in love with her husband. Six months into the marriage, she catches her husband in a betrayal of the worst kind. And the worst part? He set it up to happen. The betrayal breaks Catalina more than her own family had. But Catalina cannot leave.

Carlo was expected to marry for an alliance. He didn’t expect to actually fall in love with his wife. Unfortunately, Carlo allows his ego to lead him into the worst decision of his life. Can he rectify what he had wronged?

Dark romance. Mafia-esque. Violence & a sudden violent death on page. Child/sibling abuse referenced. Sexually explicit scenes. Profanity. Bullying (towards FMC by father and sister). Arranged marriage. Curvy, beautiful FMC. He falls first. HEA between MMC & FMC. Slight breeding kink, costume kink, dirty sex talk. OW drama (sibling). Violence against a woman (on page slap from MMC to FMC’s sibling). Degrading scene for FMC.

Nope Trigger warnings and Tropes:

Dark romance. Mafia-esque. Violence/death of a character on page Cheating on page (1x) Drinking while knowing she’s pregnant. Miscarriage. Profanity. OW drama. Possessive MMC, who is also stupid and arrogant. Toxic relationship/marriage. A sort of HEA? (depends on your perspective). Sexual content. Referenced childhood abuse/bullying by mother on page. Little to no grovel. MMC takes advantage of FMC while intoxicated.
