She’s out fucking cold.
“Fuck,” I hiss, my heart climbing into my damn throat as I turn and practically run for the bathroom door.
I never should have let her come in here alone.
I should have insisted that I go with her, no matter what she said.
When I reach the bathroom door, I wrench it open, careful not to hit or jostle her too much. I look down at her face. She looks so fucking peaceful and meanwhile, I swear everything is fucking crashing down around me.
I reach the dance floor and look around.
Goddamn it.
There are too many fucking people here.
The music is too damn loud.
I need my brothers.
Jumper is dancing with Morgan in the middle of the floor, completely oblivious to what a fucking dire situation this is and Gear is off to the side at one of the tables nursing a beer. He’s watching them with an amused expression but when I let out a whistle, his head jerks up, meeting my gaze and his eyes widen.
Several other people turn in my direction but I ignore them.
I tilt my chin toward Jumper and Morgan before cocking my head toward the door of the club and he understands what I’m trying to say immediately, nodding as he stands from the table.
Confident that he’ll get them and they will catch up to me, I start pushing through the crowd for the door. More people turn to look at me as I carry an unconscious Lennon through the club in my arms but I stay focused.
Fuck what they think.
I don’t give a shit.
My only goddamn concern is getting my girl out of here.
By the time I make it to the door, Morgan, Jumper and Gear are on my heels, spilling out onto the sidewalk behind me. Morgan rounds the two of us and looks down at Lennon with wide eyes.
“Lenny?” she asks, touching her face before looking up at me. “What the fuck happened?”
“I don’t know. She said the drink was hitting her pretty hard…” I shake my head. “But when I found her in the bathroom, she was on the floor, curled up in the corner. She was having trouble speaking and as soon as I picked her up, she passed out.”
Morgan’s gaze bounces between Lennon and I. “She only had one drink.”
“I know,” I say through gritted teeth. Something is definitely not fucking right here but I can’t think clearly right now. “I need her keys. We need to get her back to the clubhouse.”
Jumper steps up and claps his hand on my shoulder. “I’ll drive you guys back and Morgan and Gear can take my truck.”
I shoot him a look.
Why the fuck would he drive us back?
I didn’t drink tonight so I can drive Lennon back to the clubhouse just fine.
“Would you rather drive or hold her all the way back to the compound?” he asks.
Oh.
Hold her.
Definitely hold her.
