“I’ll call Doc Smith on our way and have her meet us at home,” Gear adds and I nod.

Yes.

That’s a good idea.

“Here’s her purse,” Morgan says, handing the tiny little black bag over to Jumper. “Keys are inside.”

Jumper takes it from her and fishes the keys out before handing the bag back to her and then we’re moving down the sidewalk toward her Jeep.

I can’t take my eyes off her face though.

Then, my gaze drops to her chest and I watch closely to make sure she’s still breathing normally.

She seems fine.

But I need her to wake the fuck up.

Jumper opens the passenger door of the Jeep for me and I slip inside, keeping Lennon securely in my arms. When we’re seated, I give him a nod and he closes the door before racing around to the driver’s side and climbing behind the wheel.

I stare at her face as he pulls away from the curb, the tires squealing, brushing my thumb over her cheek and willing her to open her gorgeous honey eyes.

Come on, baby.

Look at me.

I glance up to check our progress and see Jumper looking at me out of the corner of my eye. My gaze flicks toward him.

“What?”

He shakes his head and turns back to the road. “Nothing.”

Bullshit.

But it’s not important now.

“Dal…ton,” Lennon mumbles and my eyes drop to her. Her eyelids are fluttering and I cup her cheek in my hand, brushing my thumb back and forth across her skin.

“I’m here, baby.”

She lets out a sigh at the sound of my voice.

“I’m right here.” I tell her, hoping that me talking to her will continue to soothe her. “You’re safe now.”

“No…one…”

My brows furrow. “What, sweetheart?”

“No…” She sighs again. “No…one… takes…”

And then she’s silent again.

I want to scream.

And throw things.

Or pound my fists into a bag.

I need to fix this.
