Lennon is mine and she’s perfectly fine now that she’s away from this fucker.
“She’s fine,” I bite out, clenching my fist. How fucking dare he be concerned about Lennon now after everything he did to her. He shakes his head.
“I didn’t mean to hurt her…”
“She’s fine,” I say through clenched teeth. “And not your fucking concern anymore.”
He nods. “I know… I know. I just… after Voodoo… I needed to make sure she was okay.”
What?
My vision narrows on him and I take a step back. “What do you mean ‘after Voodoo’?”
“I just went there to talk to her,” he whispers, shaking his head and gripping the back of his neck. “I never meant to hurt her. I just needed to get her alone so she would finally listen to me.”
His words slam into my mind like a fucking truck.
I take another step back, staring at him as my ears ring.
“You fucking drugged her?”
He looks up at me. “I didn’t mean to hurt her. I just wanted to talk…”
I fucking knew it.
“You fucking drugged her,” I hiss, the ringing in my ears blocking out everything else and the apartment around us fades as I launch myself across the distance between us and throw my fist into his face. His head snaps back and he falls, hitting the side of the recliner and rolling off to the floor. He lands on his stomach and I grab his t-shirt, flipping him to his back. My chest heaves and my hands are shaking as I climb on him and land another punch to his face.
His nose breaks.
The crack so fucking satisfying.
I think about that night.
How happy and carefree Lennon was right up until the drug started taking effect.
Another punch finds his cheek and blood sprays across the carpet.
I think about how disoriented and confused she was.
The way she stumbled and looked around the room like she was trying to make sense of the world again.
My other fist finds the opposite cheek and he groans, beneath me, trying to buck me off but that’s not going to fucking happen.
Lennon, unconscious in my arms, flicks through my mind and I let out a scream as I land the next punch. My fists are flying. Punch after punch after punch as I think about what he did.
He has to pay for it.
He hurt her.
He hurt my girl.
He drugged her.
He was going to take her if I hadn’t been there.
I’ll fucking kill him.
“Rooster,” someone says, breaking through the haze as I continue to pound this fucker’s face in. Hands grab at my arms but I shake them off, grabbing his head and slamming it back into the floor.
