“Why?” she asks, her face turning into the picture of innocence as she lets her head fall back to look at her man. “Does it make you jealous, baby?”
When he reaches the table, he yanks her chair back and she lets out a squeal as he grabs her and throws her over his shoulder.
“I’m gonna spank your ass raw, you little troublemaker.”
“Promise?” she asks, propping her hands on his back to push herself up so she can look at us and wink. Ali laughs again.
“Don’t hurt him too much, girl.”
She laughs, smacking his ass as he carries her toward the parking lot. “Just might. He’s getting kind of frail in his old age.”
“I’ll show you old, mama,” he growls back instantly, smacking her ass. But she just laughs again.
Goddamn.
That woman is insane.
“I’ll talk to y’all later,” Lennon says, pulling my attention back to her as she comes up to me and slips her hand in mine.
“Let’s go. I want my surprise.”
I grin. “Come on, gorgeous.”
We say good-bye to Carly and Ali before heading back inside the clubhouse. Ink, Jumper, Gear and Chance are hanging out around the bar and I nod to them as we pass but I don’t want to get sucked into another conversation.
Not when I have a surprise to pull off.
“Ready to tell me where we’re going?” Lennon asks as soon as we step into the parking lot and I shake my head, fighting back a smile.
“Nope.”
“Do I, at least, get a hint?”
I barely hold back my laugh.
My girl does not like surprises.
“Let’s see,” I muse, flashing her a look as we reach my bike. “Date.”
Her eyes brighten. “We’re going on a date?”
“Maybe.”
“Where?” she asks as I grab the helmet off the seat and place it on her head.
“Can’t tell you. That’s still part of the surprise.”
She sighs. “Dalton, just tell me.”
Her hazel eyes are staring daggers at me, like she can will me into revealing my plans with the power of a look and I laugh.
“Nope.”
“Please?” she asks, softening her gaze and taking a step closer to me, trailing her fingers down my stomach.
Oh, fuck me.
I never stood a chance.
