It’s time for her surprise.
“Rooster.”
I glance back at Storm, still standing at the head of the table and he signals for me to hang back with a tilt of his head. Once everyone else is gone, he pulls his attention away from the door and focuses on me.
“You gonna be good with all this?”
Yes.
No.
I don’t know.
I let out a sardonic laugh. “I’m working on it. I don’t love the idea of sending her out somewhere in the world and not knowing where she is or if she’s safe.”
“I get that,” he says with a nod. “We don’t know Ben but we do know Hawk and if Hawk trusts him, we’ve got to give this a shot because we don’t have another option for her besides spending the rest of her life here.”
I nod, running a hand through my hair. “That’s what I keep telling myself. This network could be a really good fucking thing if it works. Just feels like we’re gambling a lot on that fucking ‘if’.”
“Gambling is the only way to win, brother.”
I let out a breath, shaking my head. “Fuck you for being right.”
“Get out of here,” he says with a grin, clapping me on my shoulder. “By the way, Lennon…”
I arch a brow. “What about her?”
“You officially claiming that?”
“Officially,” I say, glancing over at the door. “Not yet. Unofficially, you bet your fucking ass I am.”
He laughs. “I got ya. Let me know when it is official.”
With a nod, I head out of the chapel and scan the clubhouse for my girl. I’ve been planning this surprise for her since Friday night and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she finally realizes what it is.
She’s going to love it.
I hope.
She’s not inside so I head over to the back door and pull it open. She’s sitting at a glass patio table with Ali, Carly and Izzy. There is a drink in her hand and she throws her head back, laughing at something Izzy said.
God, I can only imagine what they’re talking about.
Izzy has zero damn filter and I’ve heard her say some truly outlandish shit.
But I do love to see my girl laughing like that.
Carly says something and Lennon’s head whips in my direction and she flashes me a wide smile. “You done?”
“I am,” I say, stepping out onto the deck and holding my hand out to her. “Ready for your surprise?”
She jumps up, her smile growing as she sets her drink down on the table. “I am.”
“Please, for the love of God,” Izzy says, rolling her eyes as a grin creeps over her face. “Tell me that’s not a euphemism for your dick.”
Carly chokes on her drink and Ali lets out a loud laugh.
“Mama,” Smoke calls as he walks up the stairs to the deck from behind her. “Don’t talk about my brother’s dicks.”
