“Yes, you do, Emma. I know you and I know your body. You want this.”
“Stay away from me,” I growl, my every defense raised as I remember all the times Ryan forced me into having sex.
“You don’t really want that, baby.” He laughs and unties me from the chair.
“Yes, I do!” He pulls me down to the floor and lies down next to me.
He laughs again and pulls me closer until our bodies are touching. Panic takes over and I begin to shake. I can’t do this again. I can’t let him rape me. I struggle against him but he holds me tightly.
“Get off me!”
“Come on, sweetheart.”
Hearing him call me that makes me cringe. It sounds so fake and it’s not his. It belongs to Nix. I belong to Nix. He growls and fists his hand into my hair, gripping it tightly and yanking. A squeak of pain escapes me and he manipulates my head toward him and kisses me.
I fight against him as best as I can with a broken leg and my arms tied behind my back but it doesn’t do much except make him angrier. “Why are you such a bitch to me?”
“Get away from me!” I half beg, half demand, tears welling up in my eyes.
“Bitch!” he curses and releases me. “Everything I do is for you and it’s just never enough. You’re never happy.”
He’s fuckin’ delusional. What part of all this is for me?
“How is raping me, for me?” I snarl, unable to get control of my emotions.
“Are you kidding me? I would never rape you! I was just trying to remind you how good we were! You know what, I’m out of here. I’ll give you some time to think.”
He stomps over to the door. I hear it slam and lock. My mind is spinning and I think I’m slowly losing my sanity. This is just more of his games. He knows that he raped me; there is no way that he can claim he tied me up for fun.
Well, actually he could claim that but it’s not true.
This situation grows more hopeless the more I sit here. How am I going to get away? I don’t think I’ll be able to run on this leg.
Sighing, I look down at my belly. “Any bright ideas you could share with Mommy, peanuts? We gotta get out of here.”
I stare down at my belly with renewed resolve. I have to keep my little ones safe so if I have to run a mile on this leg, I will.
As long as my babies are okay.

“Wake up!” Someone snaps from above me. I pry my eyes open and come face-to-face with Detective Nelson.
“Evan,” I growl.
“It’s Detective Nelson to you, bitch.”
“You don’t deserve that title.”
His foot rears back and then connects with my stomach. I gasp and fold myself over, trying to shield the babies from any further attack.
“Evan! What the fuck!” Ryan barks.
“She disrespected me!”
Birds of a feather, flock together, I think to myself and hold back the giggle. God, my emotions are all over the place.
Maybe I’m in shock.
