Or maybe I’m just crazy.
“Go down to the van!” Ryan demands and Evan grumbles before doing as he says. Ryan leans down in front of me and palms my face. My mind locks onto the word van. Oh, God, are they taking me somewhere?
“Baby, I’m so sorry. I can’t believe he hurt you.”
My eyes widen.
Oh, the irony.
I have to mash my lips together to keep from scoffing. This is also the first time he’s ever said ‘I’m sorry.’
“It’s fine,” I say, trying to keep it safe.
“Come on, we gotta go.”
“Go? Where are we going?” Panic consumes me.
“It’s a surprise. Come on,” he says and drags me up. As soon as I put any weight on my leg, I scream in pain and collapse again. Ryan kneels down and inspects my injury.
“Mmm, babe, I think it’s broken.”
“No shit, Sherlock,” I growl and gasp when I realize that I actually said it out loud. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.”
He glares at me for a moment before nodding his head. “I’ll let it go this time because you are probably in a great deal of pain.”
Sighing, he produces a cloth and grabs the back of my head, holding it in place while he moves the cloth over my nose and mouth.
No!
I try to struggle but it’s too late. I see Ryan’s lips moving but I can’t hear what he’s saying and then my whole world goes black again.
