I laugh. “You never hated him. You loved him to a fault. You sacrificed everything for him.”

“Princess, if you keep talking like that, you are going to ruin my street cred,” he jokes.

“Uh-huh. So are we going to talk about the fact that we have talked about your brother multiple times, but you never once thought to tell me that he was your identical twin?”

He grimaces. “I didn’t like thinking about it. It had nothing to do with you and everything to do with my own demons.”

I pat his chest. “I know, which is why I won’t take your balls this time, but if you have any other super secret admissions, you better get them out now. I won’t be as forgiving next time.”

“Only that I love you.”

I freeze. “What?”

“I love you. I haven’t said it, and neither have you. At least not while awake, but I feel it. You’re the one for me, Evelyn. Before you, I was a lost soul. Even when Reaper asked me to stay, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be permanent. Not until you aimed your hatred toward me. You gave me a purpose. A reason to be here. Then I got to know you and realized you were everything I could have asked for in a woman yet was too afraid to hope for. I know damn well I don’t deserve you. You deserve someone smarter than me. Someone who isn’t going to risk your job just by existing, but if you stick with me, I can promise no one will love you harder. No one would protect you as fierce as I would.”

I can feel the tears welling in my eyes. I already knew I loved him, but hearing his proclamation out here in the open where I’m sure people are listening means the world to me. He is being vulnerable when vulnerability is one of his biggest fears. He doesn’t like showing weakness in front of others, but for me, he is willing to do so.

I wrap my arms around his neck. “Oh, my dear Hades. Thankfully, you don’t get to decide what I deserve. If you did, I’d be married to someone boring like a banker or, God forbid, another doctor.”

“Never,” he growls. “You’ll marry me.”

“Oh, will I? I don’t know. What would be in it for me?”

He picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder as he turns and marches down the hall toward our room.

“I’ll start planning your old lady party,” Tara calls out on a laugh.

I wave at her, laughing against Hades’ shoulder.

When we get to the room, he throws me down onto the bed.

“What are you going to do?” I ask.

“Showing you why you wanna marry me.”

He starts toward my pussy, but I grab his face, pulling him back up to me.

“What?”

I lean up, kissing him softly. “I love you, Jonah. I would be happy to marry you and be your old lady.”

His face softens. “You already told the entire club that you’re my old lady. There’s no taking that back.”

I scowl at him. “I can refuse to accept your patch.”

He kisses my nose. “You won’t, though. You know why?”

“Why?”

“Because you love me.”

I sigh. “Unfortunately, you did trick me into falling in love with you.”

“That’s okay though, because I love you too.”

I kiss him again, this time slipping him some tongue. He kisses me back passionately, causing me to become breathless.

When he pulls back, I look up at him dazed.
