“How’d the meeting go? I assume that is why you were kissing my brother,” he asks.

“I got my job back, and Atticus went after them for everything. I get a public apology, Dr. Pembrooke won’t be a doctor much longer, Atticus is going to report him to the medical board, and I am getting back pay and a raise. I mean, Atticus did it all.”

“Good. I’m glad.” He kisses my neck.

“You were right too. Maverick and Rebel were there. They didn’t make it obvious, but they were watching me.”

“They are good men. I knew I could trust them.”

“Maybe you can make up with them too?”

He sighs. “Mav already forgives me. Rebel will take time. You did good. Me and Remi are healing. The rest will come. Now is this how you really want to spend our alone time? I give them twenty minutes before they come pull us from this room.”

I hum. “I wouldn’t mind knowing what you had planned to do to convince me, though.”

He licks his lips, moving down my body. “I’ll convince you all right. Then I’ll make you choke on my cock.”

“Always such an asshole,” I mutter as he pulls my pants down.

“Your asshole.”

I guess he is my asshole.

I wouldn’t trade him for anything else in the world.

EPILOGUE

TWO MONTHS LATER

Hades

“Is Officer Roderick still cooperating?” Reaper asks me.

“Yeah. He doesn’t like the way things are going. He said Dansworth is now getting rid of anyone who is against him. He is toeing the line, but he is becoming more unstable.”

Ever since Officer Roderick pulled me over and advised me of Dansworth’s plan, he has been an informant for us. He has kept meeting with me in secret to help us take Dansworth down.

“That is obvious. He is setting the tone for this biker rally. It’s ridiculous that it’s all staged. How are we going to prove that?” Colt curses.

“We have time to figure it out. I’ve put in calls to some other chapters. They are going to be affected by this too. I even contacted some of the crews I know,” Reaper tells him.

Trigger speaks up. “I think I have an idea.”

“We are all ears. What have you got?”

“Well, what if, at the same time as the rally, we organize a peaceful protest at city hall?” Trigger suggests. “He will have his media outlets at the rally, but we will be at the city hall protesting the rally because they are not from here and they are ruining our city. We can make noise about how it affects the community. It can help get the community back on our side while distancing ourselves from the rally itself. We can contact national news outlets and have them cover our protest. That will hopefully outshine the local news. Dansworth thinks he’s important, but he is only a mayor. From what I can tell, the governor doesn’t care for him. We need to keep him from changing that.”

“I assume you have a plan?” Wrath sits back in his seat.

“I do. The governor has a ball coming up. I happen to have an invite.”

“How the hell do you have an invite to the governor’s ball?” I snort.

“I have my ways. I will be in attendance. I am going to approach the governor and gauge his interest in the local politics in Vegas. Hopefully, I can get him on our side.” He shoots me a glare.

He doesn’t want me to ask any more questions.

Far be it for me to intrude on whatever side shit he has going on.
