“So it is looking good,” I finish for him. “Although, she did mention last night that she was concerned about how she was going to pay for his services. I wasn’t ready for the shitstorm of her anger by telling her the club was covering it.”

Trigger clears his throat. “Actually, he won’t be charging us for this one. He said he’s taking it on for ‘fun.’”

“Who the fuck takes on pro bono work for fun?” Midnight asks, shaking his head.

“Apparently he does,” Pinky mutters as he shifts carefully in his seat.

“What about the fire?”

“The police chief took shitty pictures. I went and looked myself. If there was any evidence of arson, he took it with him. It’s a dead end,” Trigger grumbles.

“Hopefully we can clear this all up so she can go back to work and get her house back. I’m sure she’s going crazy as hell not going in every day,” Reaper says absently.

I bite my tongue to stop myself from telling him that she’s doing fine. Sure, it was rough at first, but once she gave up trying to figure out what else she could do with her life, it got a lot better for both of us. It may have something to do with the fact that she’s decided my cock is her new favorite part of the anatomy, but I can’t tell them that.

“So you went with Bullet to meet with Mav and Rebel then?” Colt says, making us all look his way.

“Yeah. Reaper said he wanted me there.” I look to our president.

He nods. “You know them, so you know their tells. How did it go? I’ve talked to them a few times. Still feel like shit that I can’t go myself with Dansworth keeping tabs on me,” Reaper mutters.

“Still?” Kicks asks.

“I took Natalie out for ice cream because she has been stir-crazy. We took a car since we are trying to stay out of the spotlight. Guess who walked into the ice cream shop with a bunch of reporters? He gave a speech on bikers while pointing me out. It took everything I had to walk out of there without saying anything to him.” He frowns.

“You think he’s having us followed?” Colt asks.

“I’m sure he is, and now that he is mayor, he has a lot of resources at his fingertips,” Trigger mutters.

“Well, Rebel had something interesting to say. Apparently Dansworth is already entertaining women,” I tell them, changing the subject.

“Fucker didn’t waste a second, did he? Just jumped from one to another. No loyalty.” Wrath seethes.

He doesn’t like when women are mistreated. It has something to with his past and his mom. It is admirable that he tries to save all the women he can.

“Let me guess, another Natalie look-alike?” Reaper sighs.

Colt nods. “From what he described, yes. When I told him about the similarities, he said he would try and snap a picture. Don’t worry, I told him not to risk getting caught.”

“Has Melanie even had a funeral?” Midnight asks, looking around.

Trigger shakes his head. “No, last I checked, her body is unclaimed at the morgue.”

“That’s so fucked up,” Wrath says as we all nod in agreement.

“We should claim her. We have all those plots,” Honk says quietly.

I look over at the man and see his demons trying to fight free. I’m sure Elenore’s ghost is hanging right over his shoulder, reminding him of everything he lost.

“We can. We just need to find a way to do it discreetly,” Reaper says.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t just start our own cemetery here.” Wrath sighs.

“Wait, you guys tried to get approved for your own cemetery?” I ask.

The men nod.

Midnight speaks. “Yeah, they were worried if we were approved that we would just fill the graves with random bodies and they would never know.”
