I nod. My father only allowed me to get one when he knew I was going to stand in for my sister.

“Give me your number, and we will add you to our group chat. You need anything, you message, okay? We’re here for you.”

“Thank you,” I reply.

I’m glad someone is.

Because it’s clear my husband wants nothing to do with me.

SUIT

Staring into my glass of whiskey, I avoid looking at my wife, who is currently being fussed over by the old ladies.

My wife.

Christ.

And a Bratva princess at that. I wonder how she feels slumming it down here with us. I saw the house she grew up in—it is a mansion.

“The women seem to love Elena already,” Prez mutters, placing his now-empty glass back down on the bar. “Are we going to talk about the fact that Simeon gave us the wrong daughter?”

“The other one ran off and eloped. Apparently, he didn’t think we needed that information before the wedding.”

“We can use it against him if we need to. It was disrespectful for them not to tell us about the change. Although, I do think this one will be less trouble.”

I’m not so sure about that. Sure, Elena isn’t really my type. She is a good girl, but even the chaste kiss I gave her at the church made me hard as a rock.

“This whole thing is a mess.” I sigh, stretching my neck from side to side.

“You told her the marriage is in name only?” he asks, and I nod.

“I made it very clear.”

His eyes land on my wife, who now has War and Ora’s son, Zade, sitting on her lap. “Then let her live her life. Her father is an asshole, so she might even like it here much better. Ora has taken her under her wing.”

“Maybe,” I reply, but having her here is leaving me feeling so unsettled. I don’t want to hurt her, but I don’t want to lead her on, either. The look of hurt on her face when I told her we won’t be consummating the marriage was bad enough. I expected to see relief, not pain and rejection. And when she asked if I would have fucked her sister?

Yeah, I probably would have because she’s more my type.

Elena is a good girl, sweet. Nerdy. She’d be horrified at the things I’m into in the bedroom. I’d have to give up all of my kinks for a lifetime of missionary.

The sister seemed like the type who’d be down for anything and not catch any feelings. She was the safer and easier option.

“You going to bring her to the party tomorrow night?” he asks.

“I don’t know. I’m hoping she will want to stay in her room.”

Tomorrow, we are patching in the prospects, Romeo, Patch, and Omen. It’s been a long time coming, and I know we’re going to be in for a wild night.

“Good luck.” Prez smirks, clapping me on the back before heading over to Ora.

“The alliance better be worth it,” I mutter to myself, sighing when Brandy comes over and sits up close next to me.

“Are you still going to be seeing us?” she asks in a low tone, batting her eyelashes. “There’s no way that goody two-shoes can give you what you need, Suit. Honestly, you’d be doing her a favor looking elsewhere.”

I fucking hate that I’ve had the same thought.

Lu sits down on the other side of me, her hand on her stomach. She has a small bump now, and she looks adorable. “Don’t you have drinks to serve, Brandy?”
