His desire for her left him breathless. He pulled away, only to quickly put a condom on before he thrust into her in desperate, needy strokes. They moved together, rolling around the bed until she was on top.
Charlotte was a goddess. He couldn’t tear his eyes off her as her body bounced against him.
He moved his hands to her hips, gripping her to move faster. She cried out his name as she orgasmed for the second time, tightening around his cock. Fuck, she felt too good. He quickly flipped her onto her back and pushed into her relentlessly, chasing the need of something more from her. He bit her neck as he came. Marking her. Claiming her. Possessing her. Consuming her. He needed it all and more.
Finally, Charlotte panted, “You better not leave.”
“Leaving you was never in my plan.”
Chapter 23
THE NEXT MORNING, Charlotte woke up to Rafe sleeping in bed next to her.
Not a bad sight to wake up to.
She crawled out of bed to get ready for the required family breakfast. After assessing her options, she went with a black two-piece bathing suit and her blue cover-up. Hair in a ponytail and wearing waterproof mascara, she was ready for breakfast followed by a pool day.
Rafe slept soundly in bed. That man could sleep through a hurricane at the door. He was gloriously naked, and she stood against the wall, just ogling him. Last night had been intense, passionate, and emotional. In some way, it was like they were branding each other, staking a claim on their hearts. If he thought they were ending when they got back to San Francisco, he was out of his mind.
“I can feel you staring at me,” he mumbled into the pillow. “Why are you awake? We’re in Vegas. There should be rules about how early you’re allowed to wake up.”
She checked her phone for the time. “It’s nine o’clock. The family breakfast reservation starts now. I’m going to head down, just because I don’t want everyone—”
Rafe aggressively pushed the blankets off him. “What? You don’t want them to know we slept together?”
“Don’t do that. You and I both know the charade is up. My one request is for us to be able to enjoy vacation together without family in our business, asking a million questions.”
His smile made her heart skip a beat. “By your admission, does that mean we’re actually giving this a chance?”
“I’m not sure if I had any other option.”
“You didn’t.” He smirked. “I wasn’t letting go of you that easily.”
“Or maybe I wasn’t letting go of you.”
“Whatever got us to this point, I’ll take it. Come back to bed.”
Charlotte looked at her phone again. She was already late, who cared if she was another twenty minutes behind? It was vacation, and like Rafe had said, no one should have to get up this early in Vegas. She pulled her cover-up off as Rafe reached for her, yanking her on top of him.
This was really turning into the best vacation.
Off by five minutes, Charlotte met their family and friends at the Bellagio brunch twenty-five minutes late. In the elevator down, she did her best to fix her ponytail, but with the way her girlfriends peeked at her when she sat down, it was like they guessed what had held her up.
“Why are you late?” her mother asked. “We agreed everyone does breakfast and dinner together.”
“I bet I know why.” Samantha grinned over her mimosa.
Charlotte immediately touched her ponytail. She was willing to bet her quick fix had done nothing to help.
“I overslept,” she said, grabbing a plate. Without waiting for more of an interrogation, she headed toward the buffet line.
The line moved as slow as the one at the DMV. She tapped her fork on the plate while she waited. Her stomach growled at the smells of all the good food.
“You can tell someone was yanking your hair,” Rafe whispered from behind her.
She lightly nudged him in stomach without turning around. “My mom was pissed I was late. And I am pretty sure Samantha knows I had sex, hence why I was late. What did your mom say?”
“Nothing. As soon as I got to the table, I told them I overslept, then I grabbed my plate and bailed.”
