“I told them the same thing. I bet they’re on to us.”
“I doubt it. We’re on vacation at a place that has no closing time. Unless it’s a roller coaster.”
“Which is ridiculous. If we get to go on the ride, we need to say something. Maybe even consider emailing management.”
This made him grin. “You would think that.”
“It has to be inconvenient for people.” She tried to make a point, but even to her it sounded pathetic.
His hand caressed her back, giving her a chill. She loved his touch, even if she should stop it since they were near family. “This is why people say pick your battles.”
“True,” she admitted slyly. “Speaking of picking battles, be prepared for everyone to give us crap about not running amuck with them in Vegas today.”
This didn’t bother him by the way he stuffed a bite of a rogue sugar cookie in his mouth. By the time they got back to the table, no one noticed them since they were talking about their plans for the day.
Samantha reached over and grabbed the muffin off Charlotte’s plate. “What are your plans today? Most of us are doing a casino crawl. Want in?”
“Not in the slightest. I’m going to the pool and then hitting up some tourist traps.”
Elena tapped her foot, annoyed with Charlotte’s plan. “You don’t plan to gamble at all?”
“Nope. But I do plan on seeing Vegas from the Paris viewing deck. I also want to get over to New York, New York so I can go on the roller coaster. Last night, I went on a gondola ride.”
Samantha shook her head in disdain. “Please, stop. Even the grandpa at the table next to us fell asleep listening to your boring plans. Live a little, girlfriend.”
“Oh, trust me, I am,” she responded, shooting Rafe a discreet smile.
“Rafe, what about you? Casino crawl or do you have some museum you need to go to?” Samantha teased.
“I don’t want Charlotte by herself all day,” Jason interjected.
“I’ll stay,” Rafe was quick to agree. “I haven’t been on a roller coaster in ages.”
Everyone was content with the plans. Charlotte looked at Rafe, and he mouthed, “My room after breakfast.” She had a feeling they may skip the pool all together. Now that time with Rafe was an option, she didn’t mind at all.
THEY DIDN’T SKIP the pool, but they didn’t get there until after lunch. Having sex with someone she was totally at ease with was amazing. She had orgasms and tan lines. Life was pretty good.
She got ready for dinner early because she and Rafe were going to knock off some of the touristy stuff she wanted to do. At five o’clock, they met next to the elevators. Mainly because if they were in a room with a door shut, their clothes came off rather quickly. It was the whole reason they didn’t get to the pool until one—not that she was complaining.
Rafe managed to make jeans and a t-shirt the sexiest outfit.
“Keep looking at me like that and we’re skipping your list and going back to my room,” his sultry voice said lowly in her ear.
The elevator doors opened, and she dragged him in.
“We have four hours until dinner. Let’s see how much we can get done.” She told him between kisses. “After dinner, we aren’t leaving your room until breakfast tomorrow.”
His mouth moved to her neck, and he gave her a light bite. “Deal.”
They crossed the street and got tickets for the observation deck at the Paris Hotel. Luckily, five o’clock wasn’t a busy time, so they were able to get right in.
“How long do you want to stare at buildings?” Rafe asked as they took in the panoramic view of the city.
Charlotte took a selfie of them together before taking more pictures of the aerial sights of downtown. “Don’t you think this is beautiful?”
“Other things, or should I say person, tops my list on beauty.”
“Rafe,” Charlotte said in a teasing voice. “You sound like a Hallmark card.”
