Nobody speaks.
They watch Valentina walk toward him.
Watch him take her.
Watch the car disappear.
“One of yours?” Angelo asks, nodding toward the car.
“No. If it were, I’d already know where it is.”
Santo curses under his breath.
“Can you play that again?” Ayla asks.
I look at her.
She isn’t looking at Valentina.
She’s staring at Tiago.
I rewind it.
The footage plays again. Valentina approaches him.
Tiago moves. The trunk closes.
The car leaves.
I stop it on his face.
Ayla steps closer to the monitor.
Korsakov notices the change in her before the rest of us do.
“Beda, what’s wrong?” His voice is almost soft.
She doesn’t answer.
Her eyes stay on the screen before turning to him.
“I know him.”
My hand freezes over the controls.
“What?”
She points at Tiago.
“That’s Santi.”
I look from her to the monitor.
“Who the fuck is Santi?”
Ayla turns toward me.
“Santiago Sarkisian.”
