I look at the screen then turn to Elena and take her hand.
“Your brothers are here. I’ll go get them.”
She nods.
I bring her knuckles to my mouth before I leave.
Upstairs, the house looks nothing like it did twenty minutes ago.
Staff move between abandoned glasses and flowers. Somewhere outside, music is still playing.
Adriana and Vasilisa are sitting together in the living room.
Adriana is crying.
Not quietly.
Her entire body shakes while Vasilisa holds her hand and says something I can’t hear from across the room.
I look away.
I have to.
Seeing my sister like that makes something ugly crawl up my throat, and I don’t have time for it.
I look toward the men and Ayla.
“Downstairs.”
Angelo looks at me.
“I have the footage.”
That does it.
All four of them follow me.
When we reach the panic room, Korsakov stops just inside the doorway and looks at the wall of monitors.
“Damn.” He looks at Santo. “I thought you were bad.”
Santo ignores him and studies the setup.
Then he looks at me.
“We’re going to have a conversation later about how you did this.”
“Get in line.”
Korsakov laughs once under his breath.
Nobody else does.
Elena is still beside the console.
I go to her automatically, my hand finding the back of her neck for a second before I sit in front of the monitors.
Then I play the footage.
