Finally, an instruction I can support.
I rise onto my toes in my heels as Luciano bends toward me, one hand settling along my jaw before his mouth meets mine.
The kiss is supposed to be for the photo.
It stops feeling like one almost immediately.
His thumb brushes my cheek. My fingers curl into the front of his jacket, and suddenly I’m remembering exactly what he was doing to my back upstairs earlier.
Maybe telling him no was a mistake.
Actually, no.
We would’ve missed the wedding.
But now?
Now I want everyone out of this house.
Immediately.
I want to take my husband upstairs, lock the door, and have a free-use day that makes every questionable decision I’ve ever made look reasonable.
Luciano pulls back just enough to look at me.
His eyes narrow slightly.
“I know that look.”
“What?” I ask.
“You’re thinking something dangerous.”
“I do that sometimes.”
The photographer keeps shooting as Luciano turns me around, positioning my back toward the camera.
“Make sure you get my wife’s beautiful back, please.”
I laugh. “Oh my God.”
“What?” He settles his hands at my waist. “You chose the dress.”
“And you’ve been complaining about it since you saw it.”
“I haven’t complained once. I’ve been extremely appreciative.”
“That’s not what I’d call it.”
The photographer laughs behind the camera. “Look at each other.”
I turn my head toward Luciano, still smiling.
The camera clicks.
He’s already looking at me with those eyes that read my every thought.
Another click.
