“Don’t, Luciano.”
I stop.
Her shoulders rise with one unsteady breath.
“You’re the last person I ever thought I’d say this to.”
She pulls the door open, then looks back at me.
A tear finally slips down her cheek. “I hate you.”
The door slams behind her.
I stare at it.
Excellent.
I’m marrying the woman I love in less than an hour, and I’ve made my baby sister cry by having the same conversation Angelo once had with Elena.
Exactly how I wanted to start my wedding day.
Chapter 70
Elena
I’m a wife.
I’m a freaking wife.
Luciano Castillo is my husband.
I look down at the two rings on my finger for what has to be the fiftieth time since we walked away from the ceremony.
Apparently, I’m going to be incredibly annoying about this.
“Closer,” the photographer says.
Luciano’s arm tightens around my waist. As if he needed the instruction.
We’re standing beneath the floral arch in the garden while everyone else has moved inside for the reception. Music drifts through the open terrace doors behind us, along with the distant sound of several hundred people somehow fitting inside our house.
Our house.
Everything was perfect.
The flowers. The music. My dress. The videographer somehow managing to be everywhere without ever being in the way.
Even the weather cooperated.
I genuinely don’t know how that happened.
Luciano looks down at me. “You look gorgeous.”
“You keep saying that.” I smirk
“It keeps being true.”
The photographer lowers her camera. “Kiss her.”
