I call the front gate before the elevator reaches the garage.
“Boss.”
“Lock down the property. Nobody except me enters or leaves.”
“Yes, boss.”
“I mean nobody. Anyone attempts to come through those gates, you shoot first.”

The doors open.
I cross the garage to my SUV.
Elena is in the garden.

The Armenians were supposed to be Angelo’s problem. His war. His blood. I stayed out of it because it had nothing to do with me.
If Arsen has put one of his men inside my gates, that changes everything.
His war has reached my home.
Reached Elena.
I get behind the wheel and drive the SUV toward the street.
No one brings fear into the house where she finally feels safe.
No one touches what belongs to me.
I need to see her.
Now.
Chapter 55
Elena
I’m excellent at supervising.
It might be one of my greatest talents.
“No, I think that one should go farther left.”
The gardener pauses with one of my mother’s hydrangeas halfway off the ground. He looks at the space I’m pointing toward.
Then at me. “More?”
“A little.”
He shifts it.
“More.”
Another few inches. I tilt my head.
