Chapter Twenty-Six
Alex slammedhis fist into the bloody pulp that was Simon’s face one more time before he let the man’s head fall. He had no time to start slow and build this shit up, he needed information now. The man had a broken nose two black eyes and his lip was split and Alex had only just started. “Tell. Me. Where. She. Is” he growled his voice almost feral.
“I told you, I don’t know.”
“Wrong answer.” Alex reared back and hit Simon’s ribs this time. Four more blows and he asked again. “Tell. Me.”
“I don’t know where she is.” Simon’s head lolled forward as the pain made him weak.
“You know, I can do this all day, but I don’t have the time and neither does Evelyn. I’m just going to start shooting off bits of you that I don’t need starting with your feet before moving to your knees. Then that useless little dick of yours goes. But first, I’m going to let Reid break both your arms.” He stepped back and nodded at Reid.
Reid stepped forward and tossed the cigarette he had been smoking on the ground before standing in front of Booth and blowing smoke in his face. Reid then calmly grabbed Booth’s left arm that was tied behind his back to the chair and hooking his forearm through, bent the elbow joint and snapped his arm with barely any pressure.
The scream that tore from the man was loud and piercing and made Alex glad that the house was secluded.
“And the other one,” Alex demanded.
“No,” Simon screeched snot and tears running down his face as Alex crossed his arms and stepped forward giving a chin lift to Reid to tell him to stop.
“You know what I want.”
“He’ll kill me if I tell you.”
“I’ll kill you if you don’t. I’ll make sure it’s painful,” Alex countered and nodded at Reid to do the other arm.
“No. No.” Simon screamed and started trying to scoot back on the chair with his bound legs.
“He has a small house on an island not far from here. He would probably take her there.”
Alex could hear the defeat in Simon’s voice. “How many guards?”
“I’m not sure. Twenty maybe.”
“I want the exact location.”
“It’s called Capraia. You can’t miss it. It’s the only mansion on the island.”
“The Islanders are loyal?” Alex wanted to know if they would be facing them as well.
“Some.” Simon’s voice was slurred, and Alex could see he was starting to drift into unconsciousness. Alex went to leave with Reid behind him. “Wait. What will you do with me now?”
“Nothing.” Alex turned, lifted his gun, and fired putting a bullet between Simon Booth’s eyes.
The man’s body slumped forward, shock the last expression on his face before it went slack in death.
Alex turned to look at Reid expecting judgement but there was none on his face.
Reid shrugged. “He would have been a constant threat to Evelyn. A man like him holds a grudge.”
Alex and Reid had started to cross the lawn when Blake walked towards them. “Did you get what we need?” Blake gestured to the shed with his chin.
“Yes, I hope so. Osiris has a place on an island called Capraia.”
Alex glanced at Reid as he lit another cigarette.
“You with us?” Alex saw the pain on Blake’s face the question garnered.
“Can’t believe you would ever doubt me after what we’ve been through together,” Blake replied his jaw hard.
