"Damn... he fine, fine."
"CHANEL!"
He looked over at her, and that grin slowly spread across his face.
"Good evening to you too."
"Oh my God." I pushed past my sister and stepped onto the porch. "I'm so sorry."
He chuckled.
"Don't be embarrassed." He glanced past me into the house. "Little sis is just honest and she got good taste."
I looked him over, and it hit me a second later. We had the same tracksuit on and the same sneakers, right down to the color.
I laughed. "You're funny."
"How you figure?"
"We're twins now."
"Nah. You just got good taste."
Behind us, Armani leaned out the doorway with her arms crossed, grinning like she had been waiting all week for this moment. Especially after I told her what happened between me and Kyrie.
"Do everything I would do!"
"Bye, Armani."
She just laughed and waved us off.
The second we reached the car I paused to admire the beauty of it. I'd seen a Wraith before, but only driving past or parked somewhere in the distance. Just never this close. The matte black paint looked almost unreal beneath the streetlights. He opened the passenger door, and I just stood there for a second, taking it all in. The soft cream leather, the ambient lights overhead, and an engine so quiet that I couldn't even tell it was on.
"You getting in, or you gon' keep staring?" he asked.
I looked at him.
"I'm trying to decide if I need to take my shoes off first."
"You gon' admire it all night, or you getting in?"
"Yeah." I climbed in, running my hand along the seat. "I've just never been in one of these before."
"First time for everything."
I settled into the seat as he closed the door and walked around to the driver's side. For a second, I just sat there taking it all in, trying my hardest not to look as impressed as I actually was. Jokah didn't tell me where we were going. He just said to trust him. Twenty minutes later we pulled up to an adult arcade lit up in neon. It was the kind of place I hadn't been to since I was a teenager.
"No way. You brought me here." I said, unbuckling my seatbelt.
"You sound disappointed."
"No!" I laughed. "I just wasn't expecting this."
He smiled as he put the car in park.
"Good."
I looked over at him.
