I stood there for a second, staring at it, waiting for my brain to come up with some explanation that made sense. It didn't. Before I even realized I reached out and slapped this nigga out his sleep.
"WHAT THE FUCK, KAIOR?!" Kyrie shot up in bed, placing one hand on his cheek and looking confused as fuck. "Are you crazy?!"
"So, THIS is why you canceled our plans last night?!" I threw his phone and it hit him dead in the mouth. His lip swelled instantly and a small amount of blood trickled down his chin.
"This is why you had to pick up a shift, huh? For a supervisor position my ass!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb with me!" My voice was loud enough for the neighbors to hear the commotion. "I had fun, I look forward to seeing you again! Who the fuck texting you, Kyrie?!"
His eyes finally landed on the screen, and I watched every excuse scramble across his face before he even opened his mouth.
"Kaior, it's not what you think." He rose to his feet and held his arms out.
"It's EXACTLY what I think! You was out fucking another bitch instead of being at work. And then you had the nerve to come home and fuck me too."
"Would you calm down and let me explain?"
"Calm down?!" I laughed, but there wasn't a fucking thing comical about what was happening. "You want me to calm down while some bitch is texting you about how much fun she had with fucking water emojis?!"
"It's not even like that—"
"Then what's it like, Kyrie?! Because from where I'm standing, you was out here fuckin’ on the next bitch!"
He opened his mouth again, but before he could respond, I caught him with a two-piece in the face.
The second punch knocked his head to the side.
"Damn!" He stumbled back, grabbing his face.
I pointed a finger dead in his face. Then I mushed him.
"And you better had used a condom, you nasty ass nigga!"
"Kaior, would you—"
"Don't Kaior me!" I shoved him hard in the chest. "You foul as fuck!”
He took another step towards me.
"Back up!" I snapped, throwing both hands up. "Don't touch me! Don't even breathe on me! Matter of fact, get the fuck out my face before I catch another charge!"
"Kaior, listen—"
"No!" I snatched my robe off the chair. "I'm done listening to you lie to my face."
"I'm not lying!"
"Then tell me who that is!"
He didn't answer, and that silence was louder than anything he could've said.
"That's what I thought." I grabbed my keys off the dresser, chest heaving. "I have to get to work."
"Baby please. I’m sorry."
I walked out and slammed the bedroom door behind me, leaving him sitting there scrambling for words that wouldn't mean shit anyway.
