Fuck me.

Despite all the shit we’ve got going on, life is a hell of a lot brighter this morning.

“Why are you so happy this morning?”

My head turns toward Riven, thinking he’s asking me that since I have a permanently carved smile on my face. I find him staring at Thayla instead.

Yeah, her happiness this morning is definitely noticeable.

I’m not giving credit to the early morning rays from the window that cast her in a perfect light. Those flushed cheeks and semi-swollen lips that are tilted in their own smirk scream just been fucked.

By me. I gave her that look.

I’m damn smug about it too.

“I’m always happy, thank you very much.”

“Lie to someone who will believe you, angel. That…genuine smile on your face is freaking me out.”

Her nostrils twitch. She goes to say something, no doubt sarcastic, but Amick cuts in as he walks up behind Riven and takes a look at her for himself.

“She’s no longer sexually frustrated, and her body is currently basking in the aftermath of releasing so many helpful hormones. Do be helpful yourself, Riven. Allow her to enjoy this and not piss her off.”

My eyes widen. I’m not sure what’s more shocking. Him using the word piss or him knowing she, namely we’ve, had sex.

Her mouth parts in surprise and she looks from him to me.

Then at Riven and at Creed.

“I…we…”

She stutters, suddenly nervous as she whips her head around at everyone repeatedly and I glare at Amick for putting her on the spot like that. He raises his brows at me as he walks over to her, and I shake my head.

“Judging by the look that could kill on Kyzen’s face, I just said something I wasn’t supposed to. I apologize, Thayla.” He wraps her hand with his.

I’ll admit—to myself—a pinch of jealousy burns through my chest, but I shove that shit down when her shoulders slump in relief.

Her reaction is eye-opening.

It may have briefly bothered her that he said that in front of everyone, but his feelings about this had her more worried.

Fuck, I can be a selfish little shit sometimes. I didn’t even consider Amick’s feelings on the matter prior or after.

I wasbaskingin my own hormones.

“Amick, can we have a word with you?”

“Why can’t you say what you want to say in front of us?” Riven asks, perching his hands on his hips.

“Because I need to have a conversation with Amick and Thayla about our relationship.”

His face clouds over. “Fine. While you’reconversing, it’d be great if the three of you got your horniness under control. It’s a little unfair that I’m gonna have to walk around with a boner that I don’t benefit from all day.”

He starshoots out of the kitchen, and Thayla sighs.

“I’m going to get ready.” Creed grunts as he slides his chair out and stomps away as well.

“I knew they weren’t really okay with this.”
