“Trust me, it can be done. Now you tell me how you want to do it. Would you like a big ceremony with a wedding gown and bridesmaids?”

“No, I don’t care about that. I care about marrying you. I have a dress. I bought it years ago so that if or when I got married, it could be that dress. It’s in my closet. I never thought I’d use it, but it’s there. I said if I didn’t use it, I would leave it for Hanii.” My heart was smiling on the inside; I couldn’t believe this was happening. Once the door was back on, we went upstairs and brought our birthday in the right way. We made love for hours, and I was wishing that this love would last forever.

The next morning, we were standing in front of the judge with Hanii, Jaz, Kasia, Zelly, and Rome as our witnesses. My dream dress still fit but it was a little loose because of my weight loss. Nevertheless, it was beautiful, and I felt beautiful in it. Kasia did my make-up, and my hair was already done a couple of days ago so I just added a few flexi rods to give it more bounce. Legacy looked so handsome in his black tux and his haircut was neat and crisp. We ran out and got Hanii a beautiful dress and she was so damn pretty. She was so excited that we were getting married.

“Forever, do you take Legacy to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward?” The judge asked, looking at me.

“I do.” I smiled, and Legacy wiped the tear from my eyes.

“Legacy, do you take Forever to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward?” The judge asked him.

“I do.”

“By the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. Legacy, you may kiss your bride,” the judge said, and my husband wasted no time. Our little family cheered us on. I hated that Legacy was going through it with his family. I knew he was going through it by not having them there. I couldn’t believe it; I was married to the man that came in and changed my life forever.

“Daddy, I know it’s going to hurt. But I can’t call you boyfriend no more’ cause you’re my daddy now,” Hanii told him, and my God, my heart was full.

“I sure am, Butterfly. And I’ll always protect and love you. That’s my promise to you,” he said, kissing her cheek and sliding a ring with a little diamond on her finger. I swear when he did that, we were all in here in tears.

“I can’t take too much more,” Zelly said, fanning her eyes. She was a damn mess because she knew what he was planning and made sure Hanii and I had on a pair of red bottoms for the occasion. Zelly and I have become so close, you would’ve thought we’d been friends for years.

“Congratulations you two.” Jaz hugged the both of us.

We left the courthouse and went to have lunch with our family, and after that, Legacy and I checked into The Luxe for my birthday surprise for him. I booked a suite, hired a chef, and had the suite decorated. I never canceled the plans because I was still going to spend my birthday here.

“Wow! Thank you, Mrs. Porter,” he said as he opened his birthday gift. I bought him a new painting set and canvases. He got me a diamond necklace and bracelet.

“This is the most amazing day of my life. I love you so much.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed my husband. We stayed glued together for the next few days. I started feeling bad, and I fought so hard not to tell him how I was feeling, but he could see it and we ended up going to the doctors and checkingout of the hotel earlier then planned. I’m on cloud nine, and I never wanted to come down. This moment was etched in my memories, and I would take it with me to heaven for sure.

One Month Later

Things have changed drastically.Forever and Hanii were now living in Philadelphia with me. Forever’s health was declining, and her days were up and down. One day, she was doing good, and the next, she wasn’t good at all. This shit was eating me alive. I’ve cancelled everything to be home with my wife. I wasn’t doing any exhibits, and Zelly was handling everything regarding the streets. I was actually coming away from the streets altogether and turning it over to Zelly and Rome. I thought long and hard about not telling my wife about that side of my life but decided against it. I wanted to be honest with her, so I told her, and to my surprise she didn’t judge me. She made me promise to never bring the business around Butterfly. Today was a good day. We were sitting in our bedroom watching television.

“Babe,” Forever called out. I could barely hear her because she was weak. It took a lot out of her just to talk.

“What’s up, beautiful?” I turned to look at her. “Did the lawyer handle the paperwork for Tahanii yet?” She asked.

“Yeah, it’s filed. Trust me, I’m not letting him near her.”

“I know you will take care of her. She loves you to death, and I know you love her. Just keep her safe. Jaz is her godmother, and she’ll be a constant in both of your lives. I know y’all got this. You got Kasia as well; those girls love you and Hanii,” she said to me.

“I know, babe. I got her, and I want you to rest. The nurse will be here in any minute to give you your medicine,” I told her. I had round-the-clock care for my wife and even turned our bedroom into a luxurious hospital room suite. It had everything a hospital room had. I even had her doctor coming in from New York twice a month to check on her. I was not playing about my wife; her comfortability was my number one concern.

My phone beeped, and it was a text from my brother Logic. I didn’t want shit to do with my parents because I took the DNA and Cedrick Blake was my father. I couldn’t believe the shit, and my mom was trying to talk to explain it. That’s why my brother I was texting me. He wanted me to allow my mom to come over here.

“Talk to her, baby. Maybe she had her reasons as to why she made the decisions that she did,” Forever whispered. She knew the internal battle I was having.

“Mommyyy,” Hanii came walking into the room. “Is your stomach still hurting, Mommy?” She asked her mom, climbing into bed with her.

“A little, Hanii bear.” She gave her a weak smile. Forever still hadn’t talked to her, and I told her that we needed to do that and soon. I watched them talk and smiled; my heart broke for the both of them. I held my wife at night as she cried about leaving us behind. I wasn’t ready for this shit; I needed that woman here with me and our daughter. She doesn’t know it, but I sent her records to the doctor in Switzerland and he was reviewing them. I wanted to cover everything because I wasn’t giving up on her.

I grabbed my phone and sent my brother a text.

Me: Bring her over.

Logic: Be there soon.
