I was never going to livethis down. But then, no one ever lived anything down among us.

None of my friends caredthat I was maybe bi. Except for the part where they all owed Zoe money.

But they weren’t going to disownme. Theyweregoing to bemerciless about it, but that was… normal. It wasgood. I wanted themthat way.

I wanted them to tell methis was okay, that it wasn’t the end of the world. That they’d all survivedthe same thing.

They had. I knew that. But Ineeded tohearit.

Gray:Is this theworst thing that’s ever happened to you? You’ve been shot. You’ve been blown up.You’ve eaten Fox’s cooking. This isn’t scary atallin comparison, right?

Well, when he put itthatway.

Fox:i’d like to registeran objection to having my cooking put on par with being shot

Lucas:I like Fox’s cooking

Fox:thank you,Lucas

I laughed.

Yeah, thiswasn’ta big deal. Noone had even been surprised.

So maybe… maybe it wasokay?

Ashley wasn’t the idealperson to be figuring this out with, but it wasn’t as if either Fox or Graycould say shit about it. They’d both done the same.

Zoe:I’ve watched youeat pizza that’s been sitting on the counter overnight, you don’t get to make acall on food

Gray:Do we get tomeet this mystery man who’s stolen your heart tomorrow?

Shit, the wedding. They wereall invited, because they werefamily.

I shouldn’t have mentionedthis the night before I had to face them all in person.

Fox:your certaintythat this is a mystery is heartwarming

Lucas:it’s the client,isn’t it?

I bit my lip. Might as wellcome clean.

It wasn’t like it wasgoing anywhere, and it wasn’t as if they wouldn’t all figure it out eventually.Like Gray said, I couldn’t shut up about people I liked.

Which wasn’t the wholetruth. I couldn’t shut up about people who werekindto me. Gray hadbeen the same. He’d been there for me when I didn’t have anyone else. Fox hadbeen so friendly and helpful and complimentary that I’d wanted to spendinfinite time with him.

They were my friends now,but if either of them had made me a serious offer…

Shit, I didn’t know. I had noidea what would have happened, and it was in the past now, anyway. Theirfriendship meant more to me than anything.

But there was no point lyingto myself about this.

Technically his grandmais the client.

That wasn’t much of anexcuse, but it was all I had.

Gray:Thentechnically none of us have slept with our clients

This wasn’t what I wasexpecting when you told me he was different.
