“Oh,” Blue said, looking down at the sheets. “Is...is he okay? He hasn't come to see me.”

Uriel wasn’t sure how to answer since Khray asked them not to tell Blue he was in the hospital. “He’s been busy but worried about you.”

“I get the feeling he doesn’t want to see me.” Blue sighed. “He means everything to me and here I am pretending that I don’t know him.”

“Then tell him, and put his mind at ease,” Uriel suggested.

“I can’t, not yet.” Blue looked at Uriel. “I know it sounds stupid but I have my reasons.”

Uriel nodded, there wasn’t anything he could say to change Blue’s mind. “Okay, I should head back since I'm free for the rest of the day. Also, I'm meeting with the director and the CEO of the studio this week. Do you have anything you want to add to the project? I can say it as you, after all.”

“Not really,” he said after a few seconds. “I said all that I wanted to when I signed the contract. After the first season, and if the show is a success, I'll renegotiate my contract then.”

“Okay, then I’ll be heading out. I’ll send Synder in and you can explain everything again to him. You can trust him, he’s like my big brother.” Blue nodded. “I’ll come by and see you in a couple of weeks to give you an update.”

“Okay. I know this is your job and all, but thanks for keeping my secret.”

“It’s no problem. I’ll have Synder draw up a new contract just for us so that anything you and I say to each other is legal and confidential binding.”

“You’re so by the book.”

“I have to be.”

Uriel walked to the door and was about to leave but stopped and turned to face Blue. “One more question. How do you feel about Jason Dagon?”

“He’s useful, but if I never have to work with him again that would be great.”

“So you’re just playing nice?”

“Basically. I’ve been trying to meet with Azazel King since he bought the studio. Not only that, I’ve wanted to work with Robert Fang, and because of Jason, I’m getting that opportunity. Granted, you’re the one meeting Mister King, but Dagon has helped me a lot to advance my career.”

“I see,” said Uriel. “Then I suppose I’ll continue to play along.”

“Why don’t you like Jason?”

“A story for another time.” Uriel smiled. He shifted back into his normal face, feeling free to be able to do that in front of Blue.

“Okay.”

Uriel walked out of the bedroom and saw Synder talking with Shanna and Rinehold in the living room. The two walked out of the room, leaving him and Synder alone.

“Hey, how did it go in there?” Synder asked.

Uriel nodded. “Pretty good. We were right about things being off. He's faking his amnesia and regression. I told him to trust you. Turns out he was one of my good deeds before I was imprisoned.”

“Seriously?” Synder said in shock.

“Yeah. He also knows that I'm an angel, so I don't need to hide my abilities.”

“Wow, that’s fucking crazy.”

“You’re telling me. Since taking on this case, I feel as if the universe is trying to tell me something, but I’m not willing to listen yet.”

“Could it be the whole Azazel thing?”

“I don’t know, and I don’t want to think about it. Anyway, I have to head back to the city, so I’ll leave it up to you. We’re going to need a new contract.”

“All right, I’ll have one drawn up.”
