“Well, I’m home now. You can go back to Vale Valley. Just let me know the next time you want to spend time with Genesis. I will bring her to my parents, and you can get her from there.”

“From now on, you’re not allowed to use your godly powers, unless it’s an emergency. And you are not allowed to leave during an argument. Break any of those rules, and you will be punished.”

“Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?”

Alistaire threw the covers back, and Fox couldn’t hide his reaction to seeing the man completely naked. He took a few steps back and gasped when his back hit the wall.

“Who am I?” Alistair stalked over to him, his green eyes blazing with fire as he sandwiched Fox between the wall and his body. “I am your mate. The only man you will ever love. And if you dare walk out on me again like you did tonight, you better pray to your Great Grand-Odin I don’t find you.”

Fox’s breathing became ragged, and his cock got hard hearing Alistaire talk that way. Obviously, he wasn’t going to obey any of those rules. But he’d let the other man think he would.

“I know what you’re thinking, Fox. I can see the wheels turning in your pretty little head. But I’m telling you right now, it won’t work.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He pushed Alistaire away and tried to walk around him but was grabbed by the arm and turned around. He growled and was about to pull his arm away when Alistaire spoke.

“I’m sorry.” Alistaire pulled him into his arms, crushing Fox against his masculine chest. “I shouldn’t have said those words to you at the hospital and taken the time to listen to what you had to say and tried to understand things from your perspective. We have a communication problem.”

You think?Fox mentally rolled his eyes at one of the obvious problems in their relationship.

“From now on we’re going to talk out our problems rather than yelling at each other.” Alistaire leaned back and raised Fox’s gaze to meet his. “I love you, baby. I don’t care if your name is Crevan or Tokala or that you’re a god. What I care about more is us being together. Us building the family we talked about all those months ago on our first date. I care about you keeping this—” Alistaire opened his hand, and sitting on his palm was the ring he’d returned twice. “On your finger.”

“I…are you sure about this?” Fox’s eyes blurred as he looked up at Alistaire.

“Are you going to keep asking me that for the rest of our lives?” Alistaire leaned down and pecked him on his lips. “I know we’ll argue. That things will be awkward between us, but as long as we depend on each other, nothing will pull us apart. Not even death has been able to do that.”

They both smiled at Alistaire’s last comment.

“Do you really love me?”

“Yes,” Alistaire answered without a thought. “And I want to get to know you more.”

“I love you, too, Alistaire McBain-Vale.” Fox wrapped his arms around Alistaire’s neck. “And I want the same thing.”

Alistaire grabbed Fox by his hips and pulled him close. “We still have a couple of hours before Valentine’s Day is over. How do you think we could use that time up?”

“I haven’t got a clue,” Fox whispered.

Alistaire chuckled. “Do you know the reason why the witches turn the moon red on Valentine’s Day?” Fox shook his head. “Because it represents love.” He kissed Fox on the side of his neck. “Heat, lust, and unbridled desire.” Alistaire groped Fox’s ass as he trailed his tongue along his collarbone to the other side of his neck, sucking up a mark.

“What…what else does the red moon represent?” Fox tilted his head, giving his lover full access to his neck.

“Longing.” Alistaire groaned. “So much longing.”

Alistaire reached down and lifted Fox up. He wrapped his legs around his lover’s waist as he walked them over to the bed. Alistaire laid him down on the bed and captured his lips. The other man linked their fingers together, bringing them above his head.

Alistaire trailed his lips down Fox’s body, unbuttoning his shirt, kissing and licking his bared flesh. Alistaire moved down to Fox’s nipple, sucking the pebbled nub into his mouth. Fox arched his back, moaning when Alistaire grazed his fangs against his sensitive bud. He carded his fingers in the man’s hair, grabbing the back of his head and pressing his chest into his face.

“Alistaire.” Fox moaned.

“Yeah, baby?” Alistaire’s lips whispered against his skin.

“I need…” he licked his dry lips, finding it hard to speak since Alistaire was doing wicked things to his body with his tongue on his stomach as he got closer to the dick tenting his jeans. “Inside of me now.”

It had been far too long since he’d felt his mate inside of him. Fox felt as if he was burning up from the inside out. His skin prickled, and his heart thumped in his chest.

However, it no longer hurt. Fox opened his eyes he hadn’t realized he’d closed. He could see the gold threads weaving their way around them. Alistaire leaned back on his knees and unbuttoned Fox’s jeans, pulling them down and off, throwing them behind him. Fox blushed when Alistaire quirked a brow at the fact he wasn’t wearing any underwear.
