My eyes sparkled with mischief. "There's that jealousy again."

"Territorial," he said between gritted teeth. "There's a difference."

"If you say so," I singsonged. I was liking the way this conversation was going just a little too much.

"If we didn't have to get up for work, I would show you the difference."

I glanced over at the clock on my nightstand. "Shit!" I tried to push him off of me. "I'm going to be late for work if you don't move your sexy ass now."

Parker did the opposite. He grinded his cock against my center, causing a moan to slip from my lips as my eyes fell closed.

"So you think my ass is sexy." It wasn't a question, and it didn't have to be. He was well aware of it, and I told him as much."

My eyes snapped open. Full of heat and ready to singe everything in its path. "Stop fishing for compliments. Now move before you get me in trouble."

If he kept looking at me like that, I was going to say fuck it and spend the rest of the day in my bed with him. It wasn't like I didn't have the sick time built up, but it would be shitty of me to call off work so close to the start of the day and would leave the school scrambling to cover my classes.

Plus I wasn't sure I was ready to have sex with him yet. Sex was normally my go-to answer for everything when it came to men. I wanted Parker to be different, and I was slightly scared that once we took that step, it would ruin things with us.

Parker must've seen the desperation in my eyes because he didn't argue. He simply brushed his lips across my forehead before sliding off me. I let out my first full breath since realizing I woke up with him wrapped around me.

I scrambled off the bed and made quick work of getting ready. I didn't need to wash my hair today, so I was blessed with only a quick shower. Instead of styling my hair, I opted to pull it back into a loose bun at the nape of my neck. The makeup I applied wasn't nearly as heavy as I normally would, but I didn't have time for more than some mascara, a hint of blush, and a brush of lip gloss across my lips.

Opting for a more conservative outfit for the day, I chose black high-waisted wide-leg dress pants with a tucked-in light pink blouse and a pair of black flats. It wasn't my normal in-your-face classic beauty that I strived for, but it was comfortable and made me look hot.

I figured I hit the mark when I walked into my kitchen, and Parker whistled at me. "You like?" I took one slow spin so he could get his fill.

"I wish I had teachers who looked as good as you when I was in school." He stormed around the island and hooked his arm behind my back, pulling me so I crashed against his chest.

"I teach third graders. They don't give a shit how I look as long as I make their school day fun." I rolled my eyes and tried to take a step back. Parker didn't budge an inch. "Are you holding me hostage?" I glanced at the clock on the microwave. "If we don't leave in the next minute, I'm going to be late." I could probably stretch it to five minutes, but I knew if I gave him an inch, he would take a mile.

"Fine." He reluctantly stepped back with a heavy sigh. "I prepared your coffee to go. Did you want me to make you something quick for breakfast or hell even lunch today?"

"I'll just take a breakfast bar with me." I moved over to one of the cabinets and pulled the last one from the box. I made a mental note to get more from the store.

"And what about lunch?"

There wasn't enough time to make anything, so I shrugged like it was no big deal. "I'll figure it out."

I headed to the front entryway to grab my bag and purse. Parker was right on my heels. "What time do you have lunch? I can bring you something or have it delivered to you."

I fumbled opening up the front door as I looked at my husband like he had ten heads. "The school has a cafeteria. I can always grab something from there."

Parker walked past me like he hadn't heard what I said. I knew he did though because by the time we made it to his truck, he was scoffing, "I can't imagine school lunches have gotten much better since we were in school."

He had me there. The school district claimed they were giving the students nutritional food, but a majority of the time, it just looked like slop. I felt bad for those who had to eat it on a regular basis. "I'll be fine for one day."

I climbed in when he held the door open for me. My breath caught in my throat when he leaned over and fastened the seat belt for me. "Just making sure you're safe," he said with a wink.

It took until he was backing out of the driveway before I could form words again, and even then, I didn't know what to say.

Parker must've noticed my difficulties because he chuckled and threw a smirk in my direction before focusing back on the road.

"You might as well tell me what time you eat lunch. Otherwise I'll just ask Rhett to get the information from Elle."

Crossing my arms over my chest, I leaned back in the seat with a huff. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle when I knew he wasn't making an empty threat, so I told him what he wanted to know.

"Eleven forty-five. Happy now?"
