Life had been fast-paced since we'd first gone to Hell, and we hadn't had any time to just fucking relax.
Aziel tugged me by my wrist until I fell into his chest. "I've got to go feed, my beloved."
I nodded. "Fill up, because I don't think tomorrow's going to be as easy as today was."
He bent down, and I arched my back into him as he trailed his teeth along on my jawline. Delicious surges pulsed through me, and I whined.
"Shit," Kai said, causing Aziel to smirk as he pulled away slightly.
"You're too fucking tempting," Aziel purred, letting me go as he walked backward toward the portal. "You're mine tonight."
"We can hear you!" Blaise shouted as Aziel stepped into the portal.
My skin was still slick with the heat of his promise, and I squirmed on my feet.
Thaddeus was sucking down his third bag of blood, and Blaise handed me one.
"You should get some rest, Poppy."
"I know." I took the cold bag from him before puncturing it with my teeth and draining it. My eyes flickered toward Kai and Thaddeus, who were already laying down on the bed half asleep. They’d each used a lot of strength today. Kai had been keeping his powers on a tap to dull the guard's senses, and Thaddeus was still exhausted from obliterating Ravana. "But I have to show you something first."
Blaise tilted his head, tongue darting out to lick his lips. "What are you showing me?"
"You know the saying, it's better to show you than tell you." I slid my hands into his.
He ripped his hands out of mine, backing me up against the wall and slamming his hands on either side of my head. "Were you just about to teleport?"
My gaze darted toward his stern lips as a jolt went through me. "No."
"Are you lying to me?" His breath fanned over my face.
"Yes," I rasped. "ButI have to show you."
He leaned in, and our noses touched. "What's so important that you need to compromise your energy before this fight?"
I scoffed. "I'm not compromising my—"
His lips cut me off, and he slipped his tongue in my mouth, hoisting me up by my ass. My legs wrapped around him, and my back smacked against the hot wall, taking my breath as clay dust fell into my hair.
My heart leapt to my throat as the wall pulsed faster behind me. "Umph!"
He swallowed my gasp, hands gripping my ass cheeks tight, guiding my center toward his cock. I wiggled on him, and he moaned.
"I'm so fucking in love with you, Poppy," he growled. "Don't you dare do anything stupid."
Our foreheads rested against each other. My chest rose and fell in shallow movements as his gaze pinned me to the fucking wall. He moved his hands to my hips, and I unwrapped my legs as he set me back on the floor.
"I'm in love with you." I gripped his forearms tight. "And this shouldn't wear me out too bad as long as I replenish the energy."
Searing black flames covered us, and we teleported into a white room. There was no light, but it was so bright, I had to squint to see the angry vampire glowering at me.
A sheepish smile spread across my lips. "Don't be mad."
"Mad? I'm bloody furious!" He snatched up my forearms and pulled me close. "What you did was dangerous!"
I relaxed into his chest and kissed underneath his chin as I stared up at him. "Blaise, shut the fuck up."
He let go of me and sighed, pinching his brows together. "Where are we?"
