As I wrapped my hand around the knob again, I opened the door to the blonde vampire with the red eyes and smirking plump lips.

“Hi, I’m Ravana. And you are?” Her voice was cold, and it sliced through the air like a scythe.

My hairs stood on my neck, and I jumped into an attack stance with my weight evenly distributed. “Where’s Viktor?”

“Oh, he’s long gone, dear. Don’t you know we have more than one facility?” She bent forward and sniffed the air around me. “You have a scent on you that smells so familiar...like the forest after a thunderstorm.”

Kai.

Anger whipped in my chest as I glared at her. An icy splash doused my jealousy when I realized what she said.

Another facility?

“Where’s the other facility?” Aziel asked.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” She giggled, walking backward into the open warehouse where the guards were loitering.

Tight blue jeans hugged her legs with a simple white t-shirt tucked in the waistband, but I could tell she had muscle. I didn’t care how strong she was, I’d obliterate her.

I advanced with Aziel close behind me. “Obviously, bitch.”

“Oh! Snarky.” She snapped her fingers to get the attention of two guards chatting away near a cage holding a man about my age.

Their heads whipped around to scan the area before shock rippled through their features. They looked just like I’d expected an evil vampire security guard would look. They had dark sinister eyes and sickly pale skin, and they rushed over to flank her without another lapse at the moment. Their heavy boots smacked against the concrete, even with vampire speed.

“I’ll show you snarky,” I snapped, narrowing my eyes at them. “Fucking try me. I dare you.”

Why had we only found out about this vampire today? I could sense power radiating off her in waves.

Mortala and Priamos were here for at least a week. Mortala mentioned Viktor being suspicious of them. Maybe he knew all along. We didn’t know what powers he possessed anymore.

“Fine. Just remember, you started it by coming here.” Her lips curled into more of a menacing snarl.

Aziel stepped slightly in front of me, and a low growl tore from his chest. “I’ll ask again, because you didn’t seem to hear me. Where is the other facility?”

She placed her index finger over her lips as she hushed him. “It’s a secret.”

"A new-blood trafficking ring is a fucking secret?" I gasped. "I didn't realize that."

Aziel chuckled under his breath as her eyes narrowed in on me. "Let’s play a game! You'll have to catch me, and then I might tell you."

Aziel morphed into his cat form, meowing at the two vampires before sprinting off the other direction. I'd assumed he was bringing them to the rest of the guys to alert them and tell them where we were, since Thaddeus or one of the other guys had to obliterate her.

His cat form was an excellent distraction in a fight. Few demons held the ability to shape shift.

"You two, focus on the demon. The vampire's mine," she said before sprinting toward me in a flash, jumping high above my head.

I sucked in a deep breath, concentrating on my defensive stance, and I let my muscles prepare for hand-to-hand combat like Blaise had taught me to do. I wanted so badly to burn her to ash with my hands, but I had to play smart. I couldn't let this bitch come back as an abandoned like Viktor had.

Her leg came down on me with force, but I parried the attack with my arm, the contact sending jolts of pain through the bone before healing. I jumped to the side to dodge another hit.

She sneered at me and lunged again. This vampire was quick, quicker than Blaise had been during any of our training, and she wrapped her small hands into my hair, bringing her knee up into my face.

Pain exploded from the crunch of my nose, and I knocked her hands off my head, my scalp burning from the hair she tore out. I jumped back again, but she ran forward.

I gathered the blood seeping into my mouth and spat it in her face before she could strike. "Damn, you look pretty with my blood on you. Definitely an upgrade."

She growled, the sound echoing off the walls as she cut from the other side.
