A hesitant smile blessed his lips before we left Titan to handle the humans.

As we left the room, we noticed a few vampire guards mingling about rather than guarding. Maybe Viktor was just cocky.

The inside had a regular warehouse feel with concrete floors and metal shelves, but the amount of new-bloods in cages made my heart break in two.

The twisted way they’d become vampires made my blood boil.

There were at least ten of them being kept in cages, maybe more. They had wide, scared eyes with black tears streaming down their faces. It seemed whatever fucking power they had used on the humans, either it didn’t work on the new-bloods or they just didn’t care enough to use it.

The vampire guards were laughing feet away, and it made my stomach churn.

Fucking pricks.

“Poppy, we’ll get them. We need to stay low until we can find Viktor,” Blaise whispered, and I nodded.

I’d make every supernatural involved pay for this immoral, disgusting, power-hungry act.

“Let’s split up and cover more ground,” Thaddeus suggested in a hushed tone. “If you find Viktor, strike immediately. The commotion will signal to the rest, and they’ll take down any other threat.”

“Everyone, be safe,” I said, running my hands over my thighs.

“You too.” Kai kissed my forehead before sneaking away.

“Don’t get in too much shit, Poppy.” Blaise winked before disappearing.

“Yell for me if you need me,” Thaddeus said, and then he was gone.

Aziel nodded at me as I took a right past the cages. None of the new-bloods noticed us. They were too out of their minds with hunger.

I slipped into a room with a yellow door and found a lot of blood bags strewn all over. My fangs descended as the spicy scent filled my nostrils.

Fuck. That smells so good.

The door creaked open, and I jumped around in time to see Aziel sneak in.

“Why’re you following me?”

“I’m your guard, Lilith.”

I rolled my eyes, walking toward him, away from the blood. “I thought you were my lover.”

“I’m both.” His finger curled around a lock of my hair. “I’ll indulge in your affections while protecting you.”

I smirked, walking away, and my hair fell from his finger. “Let’s go find Viktor then.”

“Of course, my beloved.”

My hand wrapped around the cold doorknob, and I opened the door a crack to peek out.

A petite woman vampire with a blonde pixie cut strutted by us, and I tensed. She was pretty, with an air of darkness around her. A weight seemed to drop into my belly.

Ravana.

It had to be her. The only other vampire I’d felt this aura from was Ayla, and she was a psychotic bitch.

I pushed the door closed again and glanced at Aziel. “We can take her.”

He nodded, stepping closer. “Let’s do it.”
