The immense metal structure wasn’t painted, just a blinding silver with holes and dents covering it. The corrugated metal roof was peeled back, hanging off as if it’d been through a storm. There was no sign of anyone, but I suppose it was what made it the best location for a fucking trafficking ring.
“I can’t feel anything unusual coming from it,” Kai said as we made our way to the window that was broken to the left of the building.
“Me either,” Blaise said. “I can’t hear anything.”
My boots smacked against the asphalt, crunching broken glass from beer bottles under my heels as we used our super natural speed to close the distance.
“Those things are going to hinder you,” Thaddeus said as he sneered at my boots.
I crossed my arms, purposefully pushing my boobs up as I fluttered my lashes at him. “Don’t act like they don’t totally turn you on.”
He flattened his lips, but his gaze dipped toward my chest. “They don’t.”
“So if she asked you to fuck her in them, you’d say no?” Titan asked, and Aziel whacked him on the arm.
“Of course not. In this situation, they’re impractical, but if sex was on the table...”
Heat spread across my face, and I planted a kiss on Thaddeus’s jaw. “Sex will be on the table later.”
“Let’s go,” Kai urged, going through the broken window first.
A thump sounded from inside. “It’s clear,” he called softly.
One by one, we dropped into the closet from the window. My heart leapt to my throat when I saw the size of this fucking closet.
It was the size of a doctor's office waiting room, and there wereso manyhumans. Men, women, boys, and girls of all ages were stuffed in here. Most of them were asleep, but the ones awake seemed to just stare into thin air.
I noticed a little girl with ratty brown hair closest to the door with her knees curled to her chest. Her small body was trembling, and she wore nothing but a thin spaghetti-strapped dress.
I stepped over and kneeled down on the concrete in front of her, but she seemed to stare through me. “Hey, everything’s okay now. We’re going to get you out.”
Her big, unblinking brown eyes didn’t seem to register anything I’d said.
“Honey?” I reached out and touched her hand, but she didn’t move.
I swallowed back tears. She couldn’t have been over eight-years-old.
“Lilith?” Aziel dropped to his knees beside me, wrapping a warm hand around my upper arm. “We need to go.”
“But—”
“The humans are all under a compulsion. Viktor or Ravana must’ve gained the same power you and Thaddeus have,” Blaise bit out.
“I can’t leave her here.”
“I’ll get them out,” Titan said with a pained huff.
I whipped my head toward him.
His red eyes pierced mine. “I promise I’ll get them somewhere safe. Go on.”
“Want me to help?” Kai’s gaze bounced from wall to wall.
“They’ll need you to use your powers to put the guards at ease.”
“Bloody hell.” Kai ran both hands through his hair, tugging on the curly locks. “Lilith—”
I grabbed his face and pressed my lips to his briefly. “I don’t care about your past with Ravana. Let’s go obliterate those evil assholes.”
