“The one who won’t let go of me is Aziel.” I patted his hands, and he let me go with a shrug.

“I like holding you,” he grumbled.

Butterflies exploded in my belly again, but I shook it off.

Not the time.

“Ah.” He glanced around the room with a calculating look. “What do you need me to do?”

“Well, first.” I cleared my throat, sliced my finger on my fang, and dripped blood on the ground. “Priamos.”

Priamos faded into the room in a bow with a stack of clothes in his hands. “I was just about to visit you, Mother.”

My brow raised. “Did you find any clues to where Viktor is?”

“I found where the trafficking ring is.”

“No shit,” Blaise said.

“Where is it?” Thaddeus stood up, walking over to us.

That fucking man was captivating. I couldn’t take my eyes off him when he walked like he owned the place.

“New York City.”

My heart dropped.

New York was overpopulated with humans as it was. Of course Viktor was using it as a trafficking ring. No wonder the Order wasn’t able to locate him. He was probably working smart, only abducting humans without family or friends to care about them turning up missing. Less missing person reports meant less red flags, and apparently, Viktor wasn’t as dumb as I’d thought.

“We need to find out more,” Thaddeus grunted in a reply. His thin lips pulled to a frown.

“We need to find out the ins and outs of the ring and where Viktor likes to hang around,” Kai said, chewing on a pen.

My stomach hardened. “You’re right. We need more.”

“I’m Priamos by the way,” Priamos said as he handed the stack of clothing to Baylor. “I was the demon Lilith created before you. I felt your essence and thought you might need these.”

Baylor nodded and started putting the clothes on. “Thank you. My name is Baylor.”

I pressed my lips together to stop myself from smiling too hard. Demons were proud of their names. It’s what made them who they were. Names bind demons to their life essence. Without a name, a demon would cease to exist.

“Baylor, I’m going to need you to start going through all these files. Mortala and Priamos have been collecting information by scouring areas in the living realm for Viktor.”

“They should go undercover in the ring. I bet a witch could glamour them as vampires,” Thaddeus said.

Priamos shifted on his feet. “Undercover? Me?”

“Why not?” Kai asked.

“Priamos is a bit shy,” Aziel told him. “But he’s smart, he should be able to handle it.”

“Thank you for the praise.” Priamos covered his face with his hands. “I’ll do my best.”

Priamos reminded me of a little kid at times, and it was heartwarming. But I also worried about him. ThiswasHell, after all.

Titan came through the portal and whistled. “Damn, it’s a party in here. Who’s the new guy?”

“Titan, this is Baylor. He’s going to handle all the paperwork,” I introduced him.
