“It’s been so long since you’ve created a demon.” Titan bounced on the balls of his feet. “Good to meet you, dude.”

Baylor smiled politely. “It’s good to meet you as well.”

Thaddeus coughed to get his attention, and he had his grumpy face on.

“Shit, that’s right,” Titan said. “I came to see if you had any news about Viktor. The Order of the Void is at your mercy, Mother.”

“Bloody bonkers,” Kai muttered with a shake of his head.

They had been under the Order of the Void’s thumb for three-hundred years. It was no wonder they felt weird about it.

Worry wormed through my brain. I hoped they were doing okay with everything. I hadn’t had the chance to talk to them about them being dragged to Hell to live and work. I didn’t evenaskthem, as Thaddeus had pointed out. I was such a bitch.

“Lilith?” Titan touched my arm, and Aziel swatted it away with a glare.

“Sorry,” I mumbled, “but yes, we have news. Priamos and Mortala found out the ring is in New York.”

“Fuck,” he said, rubbing his forehead. “I’ll relay the news. Let me know if you need anything.”

“We have it covered, Titan.” Aziel growled lowly, and I rolled my eyes.

“Mate, chill.” Blaise grabbed the paper weight back off my desk and threw it his way.

The silver blur shot toward Aziel’s face, but he caught it with a grunt. “Sorry.”

Titan's gaze settled on me as his forehead creased. “How’re you feeling?”

My limbs ached from the magic that surged through from creating Baylor. The exhaustion was kicking my ass, but I didn’t realize quite how much until Titan had asked.

“Not the best.” I rolled my shoulders. “My muscles fucking hurt.”

Titan narrowed his eyes into slits at Aziel. “Fuck off, I’m touching her.”

Aziel held his hands up and stepped back a bit before Titan moved closer and wrapped a warm hand around the back of my neck.

A hot trickle bled from his palm to my neck, traveling down my spinal cord. My skin heated up, and exhaustion started taking over.

“What the fuck is he doing?” Blaise asked with an edge.

“Putting her in a deep sleep so she can replenish her powers,” Aziel said with disdain. “Her body got overworked.”

“Overworked how?” Kai asked, his soft voice becoming an echo as I fell forward into Titan’s hard chest, and he steadied me.

“She’s not a full demon anymore,” Thaddeus answered, his deep voice bouncing off my skull. “Her body was originally human. She was turned into a vampire before her demon powers awakened. I’m sure her body’s overwhelmed from creating a demon's life.”

My eyelids fluttered closed as my cheek squished against Titan. “I just need some…”

“Rest,” Titan said as he moved his hand from my neck and passed me to Aziel who scooped me up in his arms.

“Rest and food,” Aziel agreed. “It wouldn’t hurt to have her keep using her demon powers so her body can adapt.”

More training? Fuck that. I had enough with Blaise.

The last thing I made out was Blaise’s snicker, and then everything fell away.

A few months ago before I had my memories back, if someone had told me vampires and demons needed sleep, I’d have called them out on the bullshit. But it wasn’t bullshit at all. Supernaturals are still natural and have to meet basic needs, which sucked. The more I used my powers, the more I needed to rest.
