“David poofs us out of there in the nick of time and, I might add, great job, babe,” Zane said, smiling. “Then, when we were at that castle, I removed the tracker I thought he was using to find David. How did he know we were with Angus?”

Logan let that sink in for a few seconds, before answering. “Because there’s another fuckin’ tracker on David!” he exclaimed.

“What? But you looked and you didn’t see anything,” replied David.

“It could be deep within you,” Zane said. “That way, if the primary tracker fails, the second one kicks in and Michael could still track you. We’ll know for sure once Slate gets here.”

“But,” said David, “we threw the one you took out of me into the lake and it was still working, right?”

“Don’t know that for sure,” Zane said. “That lake is cold and its battery might have quit after a while, triggering the other one to start transmitting.

Just then, Slate joined them. “What’s up?”

“Can you open the bio-tracker locations app?” asked Logan.

“Sure,” Slate said, handing the phone to Logan after he’d done it.

Checking it out, Logan then gave the phone to Zane. “You were right, bro,” he said.

After showing David the lone, red dot on the screen, Zane said, “I want it out of himnow!I’m sure the High Priestess knows exactly where David is.”

“But where is it, love? We know it’s not anywhere under my skin so it must be inside me,” David said.

“Maybe Colton or Ian knows how we can find it,” offered Zane.

“On it,” Logan said, sending a message to his brother. “One thing I’m sure of, it’ll require equipment we don’t have access to right now. Slate, would your guys know how it could be disabled, without digging for it?”

“I don’t know, but it’s worth asking,” Slate said, as he called his office.

“Hey, guys, we’re here,” Colton called out as he opened the door to the suite. Once Logan brought them up to speed, Colton said, “Without knowing where they might have put it, the only way is to do a full body scan.”

“What do you need? Steel might be able to arrange it for us, like he did after we rescued Fionn,” said Logan.

“An X-ray would do but a CAT scan will be faster and easier,” Ian said. “And if I find it, I might need an operating room, depending on how deep it is.”

“Asking Steel, now,” Logan said, typing, then sending his message.

“Hey, tell Steel I also need access to do an ultrasound on Ian just to make sure our pup is okay,” added Colton.

“I’m fine,” Ian protested.

“Humor me, please,” said Colton. “The extreme tiredness you are experiencing is not normal. I just want to make sure there isn’t any problem with the pup, okay?”

Sighing, Ian said, “Add an ultrasound to the list.”

“Will do,” responded Logan. And, after he’d done that, said to Colton, “Bro, I know how you feel.”

Slate ended his call. “My people will check into remotely disabling the tracker, but they say it’s highly unlikely; they’d have to first find out who’s controlling the signal before they could try to kill it.”

“Michael was monitoring it,” Zane said. “But he’s dead. The only other one would be the High Priestess, right, babe?”

David thought for a moment before answering, “I think so, but what about the person who killed Michael?”

“Mmmm, my mate has a point. When we went after Michael, I found the trail of another wolf who must have been the one that killed the asshole,” Zane said.

“Did either of you recognize the scent?” asked Logan.

Zane looked at David who shook his head. “No, I don’t know who it was,” he said. “But it was one of Michael’s men because I picked up the scent as soon as I entered the forest.”
