I realised my mistake too late.

“Not that we will be doing this again.”

“Nah-ah, love. No take backs. We may not be in bed together all the time. But alotof it. Which reminds me, I need to pay your neighbours a visit.”

My chest expanded.

He couldn’t mean….

“What for?”

“I wanna buy one of their places and start on that secret tunnel.”

I shoved at his chest hard. “You’re being ridiculous.” When he flopped back, I sat up and leaned against the headboard to cross my arms over my chest. “This is just new. You’re not going to want to stick around when you see I have the emotions of a dead fish, Link. I’m wired differently. I can’t give you what you want, so please just forget this and stop acting like we’ll last forever.”

Link groaned, throwing an arm across his eyes, and my blood cooled.

He removed his arm and stared up at me. “I’m pissed.”

My eyes bugged out. “It’s not my fault you don’t listen.”

“I’m not pissed at that, baby. I’m fuckin’ livid that I haven’t done a good enough job at getting you to see we’re in this for the long haul. If it wouldn’t scare you, I’d shove my ring on your finger right now so every goddamn person knows who you belong to. Don’t think I don’t see some of the staff eyeing you like they wish they were in your bed.”

He was crazy.

Absolutely insane.

How did he come up with this?

“I really do think you need to see a doctor or a psychiatrist.”

He chuckled and sat up to lean against the headboard next to me. Of course, he practically glued himself to my side.

He kissed my shoulder.

I sighed. “Link?—”
