“Not having it, snook.”
“What?”
He wound an arm across my stomach as he pressed into my side more and kissed my shoulder again. “I’ve told you before and I’ll tell you again. No matter what you say or how you act, I like you the way you are. We’re not just hooking up for the time being. We’re dating in the way where we’ll be in each other’s future. I get that it’s scary, but we’ll work it out together.”
My heart hammered into my ribs so fast, I was sure they would break.
This man.
He’s crazy.
Utterly ridiculous.
But maybe that was just what I needed in my life because for some absurd reason he wanted us to work and he wasn’t folding when I tried to push him away.
Could I risk getting hurt?
Or destroyed, since I believed that being with this man and having it end would wreck me.
As I turned my head to stare at him, he gave me a soft smile, causing my pulse to race.
He was insistent and serious, but playful and sweet.
I wanted to trust him with everything.
Even my heart.
I moved my gaze to the end of the bed when I said, “Okay.”
Link scrambled to his knees and planted his hands on my shoulders and shook me.
When I looked up at him, he seemed like a child who saw his presents on Christmas morning for the first time.
“Okay? You said okay. That mean yes. No fuckin’ take backs, snook. We’re locked in. I’m gonna date the hell outta you.”
And suddenly I was scared.
I cocked a brow. “Do you mind if we keep a lot of it behind closed doors?” My heart wouldn’t be able to take Link’s type of public displays of affection.
He leaned forward and claimed my mouth in a hard kiss.
“Anything,” he said against my lips, and then I let out a gasp when he moved back and yanked me down along the mattress so he could straddle my waist.
“We gotta celebrate. You want my dick in you or you wanna fuck me?”
My cock jerked.
Both ideas sounded nice to me.
But I couldn’t pick.
I wished I could slide inside his heat and have him fill me at the same time.
My face ignited with what I wanted to tell him, but I pushed the nerves down and spewed, “I haven’t been with anyone since my last test, which was all good.”
His smiled was slow and wicked. “Baby, are you telling me you wanna go ungloved?”
I wanted to fan my face but didn’t. Instead, I nodded.
