CHAPTER ELEVEN
RYO
Iwanted to wrap my hands around this man’s throat and choke him for being… adorable. I’d never slept beside anyone until now, and the noises he made were too sweet for his own good. He was melting me in ways I’d never experienced, and I wanted to kill him for making my heart react.
But I also wanted to smother him with a pillow so he’d stop fluttering my stomach from those little puffs he made with his mouth.
Since I really didn’t want him dead—at least I think I didn’t—I went back to watching him.
He was in my bed.
Even when I’d offered the spare room next to mine, he’d ignored it and walked into my room to strip and slip under my covers.
Like he had every right to do so.
I thinned my lips so I didn’t laugh when he snuffled a little.
Wait….
Why was he making that noise?
Was there something wrong with his mouth? His lungs? His face? Did he have a sleeping disorder? I hadn’t noticed if he stopped breathing or not, but I hadn’t been awake long either.
Did he need to see a doctor?
Sitting, I reached for my phone. Maybe Wolf would know.
An arm curled around me, and I was dragged back down under a warm body as it covered me.
“Where were you going?” Up on his elbow, he hovered over me with a small smile and tired eyes.
My gaze travelled all over his tattooed neck, shoulders, and arms. His ink was always something I admired. He looked scarily hot.
What was he doing to me?
He brushed his nose against mine and then pushed his fingers through his messy salt-and-pepper hair to push it back.
“Your breathing was obnoxious and worrisome. I thought you might need a doctor.”
His neck stretched as he roared in laughter. He dipped his face down and pressed his forehead to my shoulder while he still chuckled.
“No, I am serious. You might need to see a doctor. You could have a sleep disorder that could kill you.”
I felt his grin against the skin of my neck before he kissed there.
“Love that you’re worried, snook, but I’ve lived through sleeping all these years already. I should be fine.”
I sniffed. “If you think so.”
When he scraped his teeth over the flesh of my neck, I bit my bottom lip to stop the moan wanting to spill free.
“Yeah, I’m sure, baby, and now I’ve got you to keep an eye on me.”
“We won’t be in bed together all the time.”
He pulled back and grinned down at me.
Oh.
