“He’s my soul mate. When I wake up, I look for him and then everything feels right when he is around. He protects me but lets me be myself. I can’t imagine my life without him.”

“I have no choice but to accept it. But if he hurts you, he’ll have me to answer to.”

That made her smile. “What about you? Did you find your soul mate?”

“No. But I won’t shirk my responsibilities. I need to get her medical attention.”

“I can ask Medic Haggard to give her an examination to make sure she and the baby are healthy.”

“Why would he do that?”

“Logan would do it simply because I asked him to. He would do it if you asked him because he’s a wonderful male. All the Drastans I’ve met so far are great people.”

“I’ll ask him when he comes back around. I would feel better knowing she is getting the nourishment for her and the baby.”

Faith hesitated before asking her next question. “Are you sure it’s yours? She’s not known for her loyalty. Maybe you should have Medic Haggard do a paternity test when he treats her.”

“Honestly, that might not be a bad idea. She should still have a checkup and treatment, no matter what. She is part of my tribe.”

“All the tribes should be treated for radiation sickness. I had it and didn’t know it.”

“That’s something I’m willing to discuss with the other tribe leaders. Rooster was injured during the raid and the Drastan doc offered to go to the tunnels to treat any who need it. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do anything while held here in the dome. Your guy said that if I agreed to step up and become the liaison between the aliens and the subway dwellers that I could return to the subway. I told him I would.”

“Sounds like you’re going to be busy,” she said.

“Yep. You will be too. Speaking of the devil.”

Faith was confused by what he said. But she followed Felix’s gaze toward the entrance of the medical facility. Logan walked in and nothing else existed but the two of them.

He reached her side in a few long strides and smiled. “Are you ready?”

“Ready for what?”

“I am taking you back to our quarters. Haggard has released you into my care.”

“Oh, okay.” She looked at Felix. “I’ll come back and check on you later.”

Felix nodded. “See you soon, little sis.”

She tried to stand, but Logan lifted her into his arms. She waved good-bye and laid her head on Logan’s shoulder. “I’ve missed you.”

He growled in pleasure. “I’ve missed you too, love.”
