I laugh and nod my head. “Yeah, I guess I do.”
“Are you going to meet his family?” she asks.
“He mentioned it,” I say and Penny’s eyes bulge. “What?”
“I’ve never seen Aiden bring a girl home.”
“Oh,” I say, shocked. He said it so casually, like it wasn’t a big deal.
“Has he mentioned The Bahamas?” she asks, and I shake my head. “Then I won’t spoil the surprise.”
“So rude,” I joke with her, and she laughs. “So I guess you’re sleeping on the couch?”
“Yeah, and tomorrow, we’re throwing all these lighthouses in the fucking trash.”
“I’ve been thinking about making this place more like home.”
“Tomorrow,” she says sleepily, and I agree before heading off to bed myself. My heart is full and I’m about to go to sleep when I get one last text.
Aiden: Night bbbabbbyy.
I laugh, because I’m guessing Aiden has had a bit to drink today too. I send him a string of emojis and go to sleep.

WHY WASN’T I AN ONLY CHILD?
Why didI think going to the Sarasota house with my brothers was a good idea? Lincoln is sad drinking, Benjamin and Gavin are dancing to some song talking about being slutted out.
“Why did we come here again?” I ask as Lincoln rolls his eyes.
“Those little twin fuckers thought we needed a brothers trip.”
“How are they so happy?” I ask Lincoln.
“Because their IQs are so low, it helps not to feel the crippling weight of life’s struggles.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I ask him, and he slings his beer back.
“Nothing,” he mumbles before sighing. “How’s your new girlfriend?”
“Good,” I smile.
“Mom wants you to invite her to The Bahamas.”
“Of course she does. I’ll think about it.”
Lincoln blinks at me a few times and looks at me like I’ve grown five heads. “You’ve never brought a girl for Labor Day weekend.”
“So?”
“Damn, she’s got you fucked up.”
“Is little Aiden Waiden finally settling down?” Gavin asks from where he’s dancing. He looks like an idiot, but he doesn’t care. Honestly, the twins have a lightness to them I wish I could have. Maybe it’s being the youngest, but they never seem to take things seriously.
“Our big brother is pussy whipped. How does it feel?” Benjamin asks curiously.
“Will you three just leave me the fuck alone?” I have my phone in my hand and Benjamin starts making kissing noises.
