Dax shakes out his hair from his helmet and pulls out his wallet, getting his credit card. “Don’t worry about the cost, whatever you want to get. I wouldn’t be upset if you got a few things for me to take off of you later.” He leans in, grabbing two fistfuls of my ass cheeks as he kisses behind my ear.

“Any requests?”

“I’d like to see you in something pink,” he says, smiling so widely his dimples are on display. I give him a glare with no heat. If the man is paying, I’ll oblige.

“Is there a credit limit on this?” I ask, holding the card up with two fingers.

“Nope, whatever my little witch wants.”

“Hm, demon detective pays well?” I say jokingly, placing the card in my purse.

“Mmm. Text me when you’re done and I’ll come pick you up. If Kas does anything to piss you off, I can come right back.”

“I can handle her,” I say confidently.

“I know, pet.” He leans in, giving me a kiss that probably isn’t meant to take place in public, but I relish in it. I’m on cloud nine over everything he has done for me lately. The way he treats me in private and in public isn’t something that I’ve ever experienced before. I feel cherished and honestly, this whole being spoiled thing is pretty nice.

Dax doesn’t get back on his bike, but walks a few more shops down the road—doing what? I have no clue. All I know is daddy gave me his credit card, and I’d be stupid to look a gift horse in the mouth. Plus, I want to look hot at Inferno, and even though I might not know how I feel about Kas, the woman has amazing taste.

As soon as I enter the boutique shop, a small man dressed in all black with perfectly styled brown hair greets me. At first he looks at me like I don’t belong here, but he speaks to me anyway. “Welcome to Luxe. Do you have an appointment?”

“I’m meeting someone named Kas,” I say. His demeanor changes to become more helpful, his gaze less scrutinizing as he smiles.

“Oh wonderful, follow me. My name is Baron and I will be helping you ladies this evening. If there’s anything you need, please just let me know. Water, champagne?” Who names their child Baron? I give him a once over similar to the one that he gave me and nod my head.

“Champagne would be great,” I say. Baron bows his head and walks away to fetch the champagne. The store matches the name. Everything hanging up is high end and expensive. The shop is pristine white, with lingerie and expensive clothing hanging on the walls and on delicate racks. I walk to the back to the fitting rooms, and I’m greeted by the site of Kas in a full catsuit. I have no clue how she got into the tight fitting leather, but I’d be a liar if I said it didn’t look spectacular on her. It shapes her body perfectly, she looks like a combination of evil superhero and dominatrix.

“Ah, you came,” she says as she turns in the mirror, admiring her own ass. I can’t blame her.

“Figured I could use all the help I could get.”

Kas nods her head. “Your style is cute, don’t get me wrong. Inferno is upscale, and as Dax’s sub, you need to meet a certain requirement.”

“Who says he isn’t the submissive one?”

Kas throws her head back in a deep laugh. “Don’t get me wrong, witch. I’m sure you can play top anytime you want.” Her heels click as she walks toward me and turns up my chin. “But the fact is, that feeling that Dax gives you when he takes control, tells you what to do, is stronger than any feeling you got by being in charge of someone else. Am I wrong?”

“You’re not wrong,” I say with an exaggerated sigh.

“Don’t sound too put out about it. If Dax isn’t giving what you need, sweetie, I can fill that void.” Her thumb is under my chin and she makes me look into her almond-shaped brown eyes. She smiles wickedly again, and it’s captivating. So captivating, I nearly need to shake my head to clear it.

“I’m happy with Dax,” I say pointedly.

“Well, if you ever change your mind and want a mommy instead of a daddy, the invitation stands.” She laughs maniacally as she walks back into the fitting room to try on something else.

Demons are fucking crazy.

I shake my head again and as I go to walk back to the main entrance, Baron stops me, holding out my champagne. I tenderly take the glass, holding the stem between two fingers. “Here you are. Kas and I have taken the liberty of choosing some items for you.” He holds back a blush pink curtain. “If something doesn’t fit right, just let me know and I can get you a new size.”

I clear my throat. “Do you have anything in pink?” I ask quietly, hoping to fuck that Kas doesn’t hear.

Baron smiles at me and nods to collect some more garments. I down my champagne in a few large gulps and place the empty glass on the cushioned bench in the changing room.

I grab the first option, and the material feels rich against my fingertips. It’s not something that I would normally buy for myself. My wardrobe is comprised of different pleated skirts, a few jeans, and every single type of black shirt you can imagine. While it’s not out of the realm of what I would buy, the price tag is more than I would ever spend.

When I put it on, I know Dax will love it and I decide to show Kas, against my better judgment.

Her smile is wide as she looks me up and down. “That’s definitely the one for Inferno.”
