“Love you, too,” Grayson says.
He gets up from the table and waves to everyone as he leaves the apartment.
Leave it to my fucking sister to break the tension as soon as he does. “Holy shit, you call your Alpha daddy?”
Liv smiles at my sister. “Yeah, it’s our thing,” she says, like it’s the most normal thing ever.
“More power to ya, girlfriend, but I need to know more.”
Liv looks at me, and that’s the first time I see her cheeks flush.
“All right, I’ll leave you girls alone. I’ll be in my room. If you need anything, come and get me,” I say, looking at Cami the whole time.
“Thank you, Smith,” she says, giving me a small smile. The other women look at me, but I can’t keep my eyes off Cami. I wish I could kiss her goodnight like Grayson just did with Liv.
“Good night, then,” I reply and head to my room. Knowing I won’t get any sleep tonight.
Chapter 14
“Allright,nowthatthe warden is gone, dish!” Liv says. She grabs the pitcher of lime margaritas and tops off each of our glasses at the kitchen island. Kelsey dips a chip in salsa and smirks at Liv’s nickname for Smith.
“Kelsey, are you okay hearing me talk about your brother?” I ask her.
“Oh, hell yeah. Let’s get to the bottom of this.”
“It’s obvious he’s into you, Cami. Why is he being so fucking stupid?” Liv asks. She is pretty much up to date through our text chain, well, except for last night.
“Kelsey, are you sure?” I ask one more time.
“Totally,” she replies. Nodding her head and grabbing the margarita glass like a lifeline.
“Okay, so we didn’t get along at first. I thought he was a little standoffish and kind of a dick. But then he would do these really sweet and thoughtful things. Still guarded, of course, but he always put me first. And he’s fucking hot, like so big and so sexy.” Liv clears her throat, and nods her head, already knowing all these details. “So I had to go off my suppressants, and he was really supportive. I’d already started a small crush on him at this point. Then he offers up his scent as a sort of solution to my no suppressant problem. Which, if I’m being honest, has been invaluable. On the flip side, Smith is now my personal catnip, and I want to climb him like a tree, and he won’t let me.”
“You’ve tried?” Liv asks.
I clear my throat and look at Kelsey. “There might have been a whole mutual masturbation thing that happened last night and today things are weird.” I grimace and take a sip of my drink, trying not to make eye contact with Kelsey.
“Oh, that must have been hot,” Liv says, and I smack her arm when Kelsey groans.
“My brother is infuriating, I’ll give you that, but he has his reasons,” Kelsey says.
“Anything you care to share?” Liv says.
“No, it’s not my place. It’s his history. Cami, do you want a pack?” Kelsey asks.
“I mean, I have thought about it, and I could see myself going either way. I saw how happy my parents were. They were a Beta and Alpha couple. I don’t see how having a pack works with my career. Being famous is hard enough in a relationship, having multiple partners seems impossible. I’ve never experienced pack life to know if it would be for me or not.”
Kelsey nods her head. “I think you need to tell my brother that.”
“Okay, I will,” I tell her, and she smiles. “Enough about me. What about you, Kelsey? Do you want a pack?” I ask her.
“Oh, yes. Don’t tell my brother, but I’m seeing a few people right now.” Liv’s eyes sparkle over the gossip, and she turns toward Kelsey.
“We need more details than that,” Liv whines.
“It’s new, and it’s kinda two already established couples coming together, so it’s a lot. But I can see the potential,” she says, blushing. “Why don’t you tell us about this whole daddy thing?” Kelsey says, trying to take the subject off her.
“Not much to tell. He likes it. I like it. River likes to chase me,” she says and shrugs her shoulders.
