“Like, what, you get a head start and he chases you, like in the woods?” Kelsey asks.

“One time it was in the woods. Nowadays it’s usually just at the house,” Liv replies. “What are you into?”

“I like to watch,” Kelsey says, blushing.

“I totally get that,” Liv replies. “What about you, Cami?”

I sip my margarita and clear my throat. “I kinda like when the guy is mean to me.” Kelsey spits her margarita out a little and laughs.

“Please, if you and my brother get together, don’t tell me if he does that to you.”

“I promise, it doesn’t look like I can get him to break anyway.” I sigh and take another sip.

“I consider myself a bit of a professional for making a man give in. Let operation making Smith jealous begin.” Liv smiles wickedly into her cup and shoots back the rest of her drink.

“Smith doesn’t seem like he gets jealous,” I reply, and Kelsey laughs.

“Cami, that’s his whole fucking problem. He’s possessive and jealous. I don’t want to betray my brother, but I know without the right push, he won’t do anything. If there is any way to get him to act, it’s making him jealous.”

“We need a mixture of temptation and jealousy. What do you wear around the house?” Liv asks.

“Sports bras and shorts,” I say.

“Is he giving you his clothes to scent mark?” Liv asks.

“Yeah.”

“Do the whole t-shirt, no panties. Even if he doesn’t pick you up and fuck you on the kitchen island, he will be thinking about it.”

“Liv, we’re sitting at the island eating chips and salsa. I’d rather not think about my brother defiling Cami on top of it,” Kelsey says.

“Once we get Cami and Smith together, we can work on getting you laid too,” Liv says back.

“Oh, that is not the problem,” Kelsey says quietly before taking another sip of her drink.

“Okay, what else?” I ask Liv, sensing that Kelsey would like the sex life talk to end.

“Well, you have your Heat Haven appointment set?” Liv asks.

“Yes, in two days. Thankfully, I was able to do so much virtually beforehand. So Friday will be pheromone scenting and setting up interviews,” I reply.

“Make sure he is there for the interviews. Show interest in the Alphas you are interviewing. It will put him over the edge,” Liv says, mischief written all over her face. “Honestly, you should get something contractually written up so he can be a part of your heat if needed.”

“How the hell would I get him to sign something like that?”

“Get creative,” Liv says, shrugging her shoulders.

I rub my forehead. “Kelsey, do you think this could work?”

“I hate to say it, but yeah, it just might. If there is anything you can tell him about how you see your future, that would be the most helpful.”

“Okay, enough talk about my drama. Let’s do facemasks.”

Liv pours more margarita mix into each of our drinks as we all go into the living room. Once we unroll the facemasks I bought, we put them on and turn on the showGrace and Frankie.

We all look like monsters with these on, they have eye cut outs and a hole in the mouth. Liv and Kelsey have just continued pouring fresh margaritas every twenty minutes or so. My stomach feels a little unsettled, so I stopped drinking. They both can’t stop laughing at each other in the face masks, and I giggle as well.

“Liv, you look insane,” Kelsey says, and she can’t stop snorting.
