The women giggle and joke around with each other and I smile. All of them probably needed this.
“Dinner’s ready!” Liv shouts from the kitchen. Grayson is clearly well trained as he hops up immediately and heads to the dinner table sitting next to Liv.
“Wow, Liv. Thank you, this looks amazing.” It’s a massive set up of nachos, tacos and empanadas.
“You’re so welcome. I love cooking for people,” Liv replies.
“I didn’t get that Omega gene,” Cami mumbles.
“Girl, me neither,” Kelsey jokes and they laugh.
We’re all eating when I notice Liv giving me a look. I think this woman might be a menace and I’m a little terrified of her.
“So, Smith. Are you enjoying New York?” Liv asks.
“Yes, it’s definitely better than LA.”
“How does this whole live-in bodyguard thing work? Do you get days off?”
I laugh and nod my head. “Yes, Franklin helps out and I have time to myself. But now that we’re done with the tour, we mostly hang out around the house.”
“Oh, well, you guys will need to get out more. There is this great axe throwing place.” She smiles over at Cami. “You’ll love it. Really helps release any tension you are dealing with.”
Grayson’s large palm moves over her shoulder, and his thumb mindlessly rubs the muscle. “We don’t go as much anymore because River doesn’t have as many anger issues and we live in Connecticut. Plus, the woman who runs the place has wandering eyes. But besides that, it’s great.” Liv says, taking a bite out of a taco.
“Sweetheart,” I hear Grayson say under his breath.
“What?”
“You’re probably oversharing,” he replies.
“If River or Dean were here, they would agree with me. Jackie can go fuck herself,” Liv says and both Kelsey and Cami go into a complete fit of laughter. “It’s true! She’s the worst, but throwing axes is fun,” Liv says, digging back into her food.
“I will definitely check it out, Liv,” Cami says.
“We’d love to have you at our house sometime too, or the Hamptons house,” Liv says nonchalantly.
“Jesus, how rich are you people?” my big mouthed sister says.
Liv shrugs her shoulders and so does Cami. Grayson uncomfortably clears his throat.
“So, what do you ladies have planned for the rest of the night?” Grayson says, changing the conversation.
“I thought we could do some spa-like stuff and maybe watch some movies,” Cami says. I can’t help it when I smile. She needs something normal with friends, and I’m happy she has this.
“Sweetheart, do you want me to stay, or I can go and give you some girl time?”
She kisses his cheek. “I’ll be fine, daddy.”
We all hear it and my sister’s eyes are wide and Cami’s cheeks are flushed. I look over at Grayson and there’s no embarrassment at all. He just smiles at his bonded and kisses her on the lips.
“You’ll call one of us if you need anything? I’ll check in, okay?”
She rolls her eyes. “I’m literally one level down in a high security building with a bodyguard.”
“I know, but you’re my most precious girl.”
She smiles and kisses him again. “Love you.”
