Liz reaches out to me and squeezes my hand. I nod and look at Maxwell.

“Goodbye Max,”

I say, putting as much venom into my words as I possibly can.Suddenly, he grabs my wrist, and I feel Adonis's tense glare on us.

“Look, Lillian, sooner or later, we need to talk, preferably without your guard dog.”

I pulled my wrist from his grasp.

I start to walk away with Adonis when I hear Maxwell say,

“You know Mr. Malith, I would be careful if I was you. She can be quite the little Vixen.”

I feel my blood boiling when I hear Adonis say back,

“Don’t worry Mr. Times unlike you, taming a Vixen is my specialty.”

He looks down at me and takes my hand. We leave with Maxwell there balling his fist and fuming.

Adonis

I watched as Lillian entered the library with her friends,

“Adonis, did you hear me?”

I hear Noah say, we had been watching Lillian all day, we needed to get more information on her, and from what we heard Maxwell had been trying to track her down. When I get my hands on him, I know what I’ll do. How dare he hurt what's mine, how dare he put her up for collateral, I grit my teeth a low growl escaping before I had even realized it.

“HELLO earth to Adonis”

I looked over snapping out of my insanity, Noah was talking to me through our helmets, and I didn’t even register what he had said.

“Sorry, I was focusing on the objective.”

He looked over to where we could see Lillian and her friends laughing and studying. Noah sighs and says,

“Remember man rule number 5.”

I look at him shooting daggers and making sure he can feel them too, of course I know, Rule Number 5. I roll my eyes,

“I’m not in love with her, just focusing on the task at hand, Noah.”

He smirks at me.

“Yeah, well her friend over there is pretty cute,”

He says nodding towards the one with the two different colored eyes, Liz I think her name was. I laugh,

“Trust me, Noah, you wouldn’t be able to handle her.”

I tell him smirking, Noah may be my best friend, but he can be a total pushover for the right woman. He looks back over to her and I see something in his eyes, something dangerous.

“Noah, back off alright, anyone and anything related to Lillian is off limits, it would compromise everything, and we both know my father is not a forgiving man.”

We both look at each other and he flips his Visor down so I can’t see his face.

“I still can’t believe he trained us, especially after what he did to your-”

I cut him off before he could finish his sentence,
